They will find a way to put Sotutu on the bench.

    A squad of 30... 7 aren't putting boots on.

Lots of congestion in the loosies and midfield.

There is some recycling of Qld and NSW players after their BIL games, so they may end up being the extras. It will be interesting how Kiss and co use the props. Start with the veterans or with Fusitua and Dyer. Botha as the extra.

The jersey is hardly a blend of both nations. Not enough black TBH

@NTA i think i would care more if it wasn't the aussie tour, the majority of home support with be aussies or expats who are probably aus citizens now

have seen plenty have a good old whinge on the socials though, sadly plenty demanding it be ANZAC.....

i saw the team had sweet AUNZ beanies but cant see the for sale

That could give IBL second stringers a good run for their money.

its an interesting second string game as its still 7 days out from the first test so its a genuine opportunity to force your way into contention, in the old days this game would have been 4 days before the first test and no one was realistically going to go back to back

I don't really understand this game. Lions tours are so rare, so hyped up, so talked about and for one of the games they are playing a team no heritage, no pedigree and worst of all, no real selection philosophy other than who isn't in their respective countries first team squads.

it is however a tradition of the Lions tour to Aus to play an ANZAC team, I'm ok with that.

It was a Hamish McLennan initiative.

No game in 2001 or 2013. This might be the second time ever?

I don't have an issue with it. It makes the fixture list more interesting. Weakened SR sides haven't put up enough of a fight (so far)

fair point, I have a romantic memory of '93 (even though there weren't many Kiwis in that side from memory)

Yeah I'd say it really helps ramp up interest too. I think it's neat.

Aus only has 4 pro teams. They need to create some additional teams to play.

No MABs or Provincial XV, or for that matter AB XV.

Australia A played last year - no reason why they couldn't have included them.

You don’t want to detract too many players away from their provincial sides and their prep for those matches. Plus some of those Aus A players are now in the Wallabies squad.
