Have heard Quinten Strange and Manaaki Selby Rickit are both off to Japan

Good move for Strange. It's looking unlikely he will ever nail a starting spot at the Saders. His plsce in the squad was probably starting to look a bit tenuous too with his injuries and the emergence of a couple of youngsters.

Opens up a spot for young 20 year old Liam Jack who looks like he will have a bright future. He has good size around 199m and will put on more bulk he sits around 112kgs atm.

Strange would have been an AB, but for his untimely ankle injury. The Chiefs need to move on from MSR too.

So does that mean he's ruled himself out of Lions contention?

Just asking. I assume by your answer that he doesn't start his contract until after the tour is over?

Sort of irrelevant because he's already playing offshore, so his eligibility doesn't really change.
