@Landers92 Vile.
Apologies. If it makes you feel any better Devery is 2026 and Plummer is 2027.

Few canes extensions coming over the next few weeks.
Jacob Devery
Ere Enari
Hugo PlummerPlummer is the only one I'm happy about from that list.
What the hell do they see in Enari? If Roigard gets injured we are done for.

Plummer deserves that contract, good on him. I really hope we extend Gallagher as well.
So we extend Devery for one year which will mean we likely lose Bason.

Thought we might see more of Viljoen this year than Enari who has always struck me as a 3rd option.

Yep, Vijoen has amassed a whopping 22 mins this year, a solid cameo when he came off the bench against the Waratahs. I would have thought Vijoen would have been the reserve halfback for most of this year.
Mind boggling when you factor in how average Enari is.
Hopefully Vijoen can make a statement in the NPC and demand selection.

Another bit of inside news for Canes fans.
Callum Harkin extended through 2027. Expect to hear that most likely this week, maybe next.

Superb news. He's been class this year in a position that he wasn't familiar with.

Do you think the Blues may be courting Bason to join his sister there? He has been training with them for a few weeks and they even took him to Fiji.

Strong possibility because Aumua has already signed and Tuputupu has been largely the reserve rake this year off the bench so doubt they will let him go.
Without starting a rumor, you could almost consider it a done deal if they see Bason as an option, especially considering the Blues have now lost Riccitelli.

@Canes4life There is also the Slater heading north talk about, which would complicate it. Ekland and Mullens are both contracted next season. Unless Ekland is the unknown player rumored to want out of his contract to head for Japan. Bason would be a great pick up though.

Crusaders are full and the Highlanders are full in terms of hookers, assuming the Chiefs are as well then it's likely he'll stay in the Canes environment if he doesn't shift up to Auckland.
His brother might get a Canes contract next year so that might keep him in Welly as well.

Or Mosese could replace Choat/Suafoa at the Blues and we could steal the whole family!

I'm sure that Nock was discussed as that player.

From an article on Stuff.
The Hurricanes, meanwhile, could find it tough to hold on to lock Zach Gallagher who played for the All Blacks XV in 2022. It's understood a club in Japan is keen on Gallagher, who shifted to the Hurricanes this year from the Crusaders.
I'm surprised at such a young age, Gallagher is heading off. Shame, as he has been very good this year for the Canes. Could be a straight swap for Dearns maybe?

Can confirm that that is the case with Zach.
There is also a back who under contract that could be working to do something similar to what Sam Nock has just done. Similar to Steve, when I get more details and the ‘ok’ I’ll update in here.

Is it a permanent shift for Zach to Japan or just a one year gig? Big loss for NZ Rugby, he’s only 23 and has his best years ahead of him. Makes more sense that Plummer has signed through until 2027

This feels like the risk of bringing in an international - talent here might bolt.
For that reason, The tall Japan lad should have been at the Landers where they can't attract more than 3 locks anyway. How do you know Zach hadn’t signed this deal before they signed Dearns?
Zach could have remained if he really wanted to, it’s not like the Canes are flush with international quality locks either.
