Tupaea and sititi were huge. Tupaea MOM for me

I would throw Vai'i and Jacobson into any MOTM discussions. Vai'i is the best lock in NZ at moment, and Jacobson is just so bloody good at doing his job.
Mind you Dmac controlled game bloosy well too. I thought that was a good a game as I have seen this eason, and as a neutral loved every minute, as did Mrs Dan, who couldn't believe the 2 teams kept it up for whole game.

Kieran Read just said in the post match that Ben Okeefe was harsh on the Crusaders… good god 😂

I saw that intercept coming from a mile away. The flat long pass was never on.

It’s annoying because McKenzie had done so well up to that point. Set up the attack from kick return, organise a few carries up the guts before releasing Stevenson at the right time into space. With a ruck to the right side line, launch a first pod quickly into contact before setting up another wide attack. He had constructed a great attacking position:

But then, when receiving the ball, he just dawdles, pump-faking the ball for no reason and taking too long to throw the flat pass to Sititi. He still has these moments where he doesn’t really seem to have a feel for the defensive line and the amount of time and space he has available. It’s unfortunate because he had done superbly well up to that point.

@ploughboy Well, the Chiefs did play poorly in the 1st half, and their defense was passive.

Passive defence possibly equals saving a bit more for later? It was what I was hoping for with the ABs but seemed to have the opposite effect.

@Bones I don't think they wanted to concede that many points.

I think anyone would struggle to argue against that.

Great statement by Quinn Tupaea. Turned up at the home of Scott Robertson's favourite team and totally outplayed one of his favourite players.

He was very good. Has had a great season. Prefer his directness over Havili’s ball playing skills at 2nd five.

Some random thoughts after watching the highlights:

Sititi is getting back to match fitness, QT was outstanding - great all-round game, Vaa'i was v. good. DMac's kicking was outstanding, I thought. Not just the execution, but when to kick. Chiefs look a really together team - well led and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Not Scott Barret's best game, Reece was invisible and Havili had a 'mare. If I was Penney I'd be seriously kicking some arse this week.

I really liked how sititi played a great game after what looked like a busted nose

Not only is he skilled, we already knew that , got a bit of toughness about him too

I am not a fan of how the Chiefs were basically playing catch up rugby from the get go, imo played a part in getting them behind in that first half.

But then it seems the way that we want to play entertaining rugby all the time, to hell with smart rugby.

Brilliant counter attack try. Bit of sevens experience in that.

Amazing thing is that Newell got his fingertips on him in the Sith 22.

He was harsh on the defending team in both halves, but I guess Read had his eye patch on all game.
