That's the attitude, just give up!
-
Just for the record I'm hoping he stays. However I think he is currently worth more to the Chiefs than to the All Blacks.

Paul Grant off to Bath after the Mitre 10.

IMHO It's a no-brainer for Cruden. Nothing more to achieve at Super Level. Has lost the race to Barrett. Specialist 10 so a limited bench option, likely to be replaced by McKenzie in the long run.
I don't think he'll be in any hurry to rush off. He'll know better than most how easy it is for the guy in front to pick up a bad injury and the number two (or three or four) to play the biggest games.
The long run for McKenzie is a fair way off. If he's played any time at 1st five in Super rugby it will be bugger all and while Cruden stays at the Chiefs, McKenzie's probably going to have to wait to get that experience.

Doesn't appear yo be NZ eligible so meh.
He's probably just become NZ eligible now.
I thought he might have had a stab at one of the Oz teams or gone back to league as I think his (Kiwi) wife is still living over there.
But I guess he can bank some decent coin in France. Good luck to him, he served the Magpies and Havelock well.

@Stargazer Jack Wilson has certainly moved around over the years. From memory
Flanker with us converted into a winger as he had speed.
Moved to England to play.
Played in South Africa in a Super team.
Played for England at Sevens?
Played for the Highlanders and Otago.
BathDid I miss anything?

Yeah, played in Aviva Premiership for Saracens; for Sharks in Super Rugby; and has played Sevens for both NZ and England.

Not a huge loss to NZ rugby as I think at his best he was nothing better than a serviceable SR player but not a fan of the idea that he may well be playing for Ireland in 3 years time.
Could never understand why Reinie and co rated him above Harris. He really did seem very average.
-
@Unco Agreed. The story I read was that the Chiefs weren't going to offer Marshall a new contract so it's not as if Ireland were knocking on his door.
I'm more than happy with Harris and Elliot and think Faiva would be a good choice as the 3rd hooker.
