NRL 2025

The way this year is going, top four isnt out of the question for them this year, plenty of question marks about so called top teams.
Storm still look untouchable but others at the top look clunky and have weaknesses in most games. Storm probably only have some weaknesses on a very wet track -
While you can't win the comp in April, jesus Melbourne are good. If Hughes stays fit all year they are clear favourites.
Dolphins are finding their feet, while Penrith have lost theirs.
The Titans are going nowhere, and despite this win, neither are the Dragons.
Sharks beat what should be a finals team, but gee Manly are mentally weak.
Cowboys get a nice win down South, but the Bunnies are smashed by injuries.
Eels get eliminated again, and are barely NRL standard at the moment. Raiders are going well, i don't see any team not called the Storm who you would confidently call better than them.
Lets not talk about yesterday early game
The Knights stink. Ponga looks like he has had enough. Good on the Tigers for proving they are not a bottom tier side any more by putting them away. The Knights are an incredibly bad attacking side. 46 points scored across 5 NRL games is appalling.
Testament to how far the Panthers have fallen, and where their real problem lies, is that only the Eels have conceded more points. It's going to be a weird season. Melbourne are the stand out side. There are a couple of decent looking teams behind them in the Dogs, and i guess Brisbane and the Raiders? Then a heap of flawed teams, and a couple of really shit ones.

@African-Monkey Knights are awful and now destined for the bottom 4. Ponga looked disinterested.

O'Brian got saved by Ponga in 2023, when they went on a similar run to the Wahs. How he's in his 6th season as Knights coach I'll never know. Mediocrity personified.
Ponga deserves a better team and there comes a limit to when enough is enough.
-
Galvin testing open market, now there is a massive signing for someone
-
oof, Lachlan Galvin has rejected the Tigers' offer, and they've grown a back bone and said "ok, no problem" and just announced he's not staying. Also very strongly saying they won't release him.
NRL player managers are the fucking worst, with Isaac Moses the worst of the worst
-
It's a shame. The Tigers are going places and he could do some great things with an elite half like Luai, but sadly his manager has gotten into his head and now we have a young talent like Galvin who's gonna have a massive target on his head from media and fans now and it will affect his career.
I don't blame the Tigers for being pissed.
-
$5 million on the basis of prospective performance and he has the gall to say that's not enough. Fuck him.

neither do I, it doesn't help to break the mould of some teams been considered stepping stone teams, including the warriors
One of the "big" teams will win here, If he does go to another team who is not considered one of them then I would be shocked

Yeah, so Roosters here he comes no doubt.
-
You know, I'm not usually into the 'send him down to reserve grade' sort of behavior, but if the Tigers did and chose to prioritize Latu Fainu going forward, who could blame them?
This whole Galvin saga has dragged on and on and will have become a massive distraction in the process, and they've done everything in the process to keep him, so yeah, the Tigers should flog him off I feel. Sadly they have 2 years left with him.
-
@African-Monkey if only they could structure their contracts so that if he got sent down to New South Wales Cup he was remunerated appropriately.
In fact, fuck him and the horse he rode in on. He's still eligible for Jersey Flegg isn't he?
-
@African-Monkey I got a mate who's goes for the Knights and he wants AOB gone.
That 2023 10 game winning run is why he's still got a job. He can thank Ponga and Dom Young for saving him.
-
@mariner4life Isaac Moses biggest fluffybunny in the game.
-
Moses is a grub but the more that comes out about this that Galvin doesn't want to be there gives this a different twist. I wouldn't be surprised if he signs elsewhere for less
-
Id actually be surprised if he makes training tomorrow (not my phone lol)

And there's a problem right there. The whole thing becomes a problem on the playing group. They really need to find a way to cut their ties with him and his management.
Probably the one time everyone sided with on of Ricky Stuart's many outbursts in 2020 when he unleashed on Isaac Moses during the John Bateman contract saga at the time.
-
And THIS is why the NRL will never put in a transfer window, this shit generates all sorts of chat at random times of the year.
Plenty of rumour coming out. Read an article yesterday that was clearly put out by Galvin's team, and STILL made him look bad. There is a lot of talk that he was already somewhat removed from the playing group as there are huge efforts to change the culture.
The expectation seems to be he will end up at the Eels. -

im hearing this is part of Gus's Bulldogs plan, we shall see
