Love extends contract
Now he's got to get fit, back to form, and Razor has to give him a go

Back to form is key. He looks bloody fit already but it will take him three to four rounds to get going again.
Great signing though. Key to the Canes future and hopefully key to our success.

Now we just need to work out if Godfrey can be the answer at 10
Canes need to persist with him. He’s looked the goods at times and that’s with pretty ordinary players outside him. Once we get our best backline on the park we’ll see what he’s really made of.
-
@Canes4life agree! we need to stick with him, needs time, he'll figure it out ..hes our next BB! form a combination with Riley, and Proctor outside him ..daayumm

I just took my family to the Life Flight Open Day at Lyall Bay / Wellington Airport and was a bit disappointed with the Hurricanes. 1000s of people there, plenty of families and kids and overall it was a very well run event. The Hurricanes had a stand with a few passing games set up for the kids. However, not one Hurricanes player bothered to show up. All they had was the mascot and a Marketing chick manning the space and the kids were a bit bemused at what to do because there was no one showing them the ropes.
Jesus Christ Hurricanes, I’m sick of this club not getting the basics right. It’s not hard to send a few players a long to interact with the kids. Missed opportunity as per usual.
Grant Elliot was there with Life Flight and he was interacting with all the kids, showing them a couple cricket techniques and the right way to do it.

@Canes4life Problem is on a bye that's the only weekend they get with their families

It’s one of their main sponsors. I’m sure they could have found a couple players that could have stepped up. No excuses and looks really bad in what was a pretty big community event.
-
@Canes4life Totally agree even if it’s there wider training group players at least someone even the injured players.

100%, the only organisation at that event that didn't have their shit together.

Damn don’t think Riley will be available for a few rounds yet. This was only posted four days ago:

Godfrey out 4-6 weeks. Not good news for the Canes

We can't buy a trick this year, if only we could get our top team on the park.
Hopefully they give Cashmore the 10 jersey over Hohepa.
-
Harkin or Cashmore would be a immediate upgrade over Hohepa.
Massive blow losing Godfrey.

They'll pick Hohepa because of experience.
Other option is to throw Love the 10 jersey.
-
@Canes4life Never rated Hohepa but I'll admit Laidlaw will most likely pick him despite his obvious weaknesses at Super Rugby level.
-
@Canes4life that's a big blow for Hurricanes is Cashmore close to returning?
-
Du Plessis Kirifi extends.
