There's a new pod that's popped up called Super Smack Pod. Quite different to the usual boring stuff, bot hugely deep on analysis but they chat some shit and have some crack up segments. A bit of personality rather than talking about being in and around everything every week.
What day?

The head contact on Lalomilo was a terrible miss by the officials.
It was as bad as it gets in terms of head on head., but hey, a win for the 'back in my day' brigade.

Watching the impartial panel (not)on the breakdown
You may as well give the Chiefs the title now according to Beaver and Joe Wheeler thinks Tavatavanawai should replace Reiko at centreAll impartialness goes out the the window and they become fan boys and girls
Ironically only Goldie displaying common sense
For Christ sakes I thought these people were more measuredThanks for the warning that wheeler is on the breakdown, I might (unlikely) have watched it. That's the nail for me. Beaver is good on commentary, sad that he fanboys, but no way I'm going to subject myself to any wheeler. That's instant mute when he comes on the screen during/after the game

If the tournament can maintain the quality of entertainment it has shown so far this year, then how long until the South African teams and their fans will want to rejoin Super Rugby?
If SA keep winning at Test Level then not any time soon

But he's really funny apparently.......

As I Canes fan it’s hard to engage in a rugby show that doesn’t mention your team in two weeks apart from a two minute preview of the upcoming game against the Blues this weekend right at the end of the show.
I noticed that.
Not even a mention at all. Not that they have anything to say of any interest anyway.
Show is just super cringe and doesn't add any value at all. -

For Christ sakes I thought these people were more measuredI can barely stomach the Breakdown anymore. It’s so far past it’s used by date it ain’t funny.
Sky need to completely overhaul their main midweek rugby show. The fact they are even talking about AB selection at this stage is just pointless. We already know based on last year’s selections that it’s about how you perform towards the end of the competition, not the start.

BRING BACK R-UNION!
That has been my experience as a Landers fan watching Rugby Pod. Have watched it three or four times for about two mentions of my team. It is just the Blues and Crusaders show.

Yeah it’s an interesting one ,
You wonder how much damage it used to do to their players subconsciously where our players used to beat them more often than not at the lower level ,
Their new breed of players don’t have that .

Exactly. Parsons and Hall are just as biased as the other ex-players mentioned.
Tonight's show will be interesting though.

I thought last year the show was really good and they covered all teams quite well. Definitely still the best rugby show we have as they actually offer good insight when they talk.
-
To be fair to them, Parsons and Hall admitted that they deservedly should get some shit for ignoring the Highlanders.
The rugby pod is the best there is by miles. If they took out the recent player interviews and replaced them with statistical breakdowns / game understanding explanations, it would be ideal.
That new podcast was awful. Just two partisan nobodies giving each other shit and making suspect jokes about players. And they focus on their teams above others, so bad luck for Landers fans again.

They need to structure the show so they have a segment for each team instead of talking about Northern rugby at the end. No one cares.

The issue with Aoteroa Rugby Pod is both Parsons and Hall are still too close to the current players - meaning they won't criticise any nz player ever. They go through their AB teams and it's constant fawning over all the players and all the options. I find them most interesting when they are talking about non NZ teams.

And trust me, Bryn Hall has a far different opinion on players off camera haha.

Thats why I find Keo and Zels on SA Rugby Mag great to listen to.
A bit of trolling, a bit of bombast, but they know their onions.
And they say things about our players thats our own pundits wont say. And quite matter of factly too.

Once you get used to their M.O on the breakdown you cant unnotice it.
Say they are talking about fullback.
Wilson "Will Jordan is going great isnt he".
Kirwan " Beaudy îs going great too, dont forget about him"
Mils "DMAC is going great".
But they will never nail their colours to the mast and actually say who the best is or who should be playing.
They are just cheer leaders. No rigorous analysis, insight or scrutiny. Its insufferable.
And Wilson for such a maverick player is just a politician of a pundit. A fence sitter. Company man.
