Latham very hit and miss for the last 3-4 overs. Not getting g the strike rotating either.

    Difficult pitch
    Taking spin
    Holding up on the surface
Variable bounce especially at one end
Good luck scoring freely on a pitch like that
Latham has done very well to back up Young everyone else apart from these 2 so far has done fuck all.

Latham with a beauty of a 6 and then next ball completely miss times it and almost lobs one to mid off.

300 up in the 49th over. Phillips with 50 off 34 balls and Latham gets his 100.

Brilliant knocks from Young 107 off 113
    Latham 118 off 104
And great 60 off 39 by Phillips
Real chance with that score to start off with a win.

Have mostly had it on mute, have the commentators referenced how much Pakistan are dominating, like they mentioned in the tri series?

Good continuation of "under fire" batsmen scoring big runs.

Great effort after losing three quick wickets including Kane and Mitchell. Well done Young for keeping it together and then Latham for taking it deep. Given how hard it was to score, Phillip’s cameo was incredibly impressive to get the run rate moving too

That's a seriously impressive win first up. @Chris is right that pitch was not easy to bat on but we kept the runs flowing throughout. It feels so weird to say, but we are one of the best teams against spin in the world these days.

Pleased to be proven wrong by Latham. Given the lack of games in champions trophy format each individual game becomes so important so that's a huge century by him.

Excellent for Will Young to get a big score too.

Glenn Phillips doing Glenn Phillips things.

There is quite a large gap between games so hopefully can keep the momentum going.

Poor old Bob was on the receiving end of "This is Cunis at the Vauxhall End. Cunis, a funny sort of name: neither one thing nor the other."

Obviously, a huge win - beat Bangladesh and we're 9/10ths of the way into the semis, with a free swing against India. And already our fifth win on the trot.

Despite the prognostications of doom, we haven't fallen apart as our golden generation have departed.

We won this game with only three of the team that won the WTC - and Little Kane only contributed one run. Rachin, Sears and Ferguson on the injured list - but, we're able to send home for Big Kyle!

This sort of result would have been unimaginable in the low points of the Young Guns (early-mid-90s), late-90s, Dan Vettori as captain/coach/bus driver.

To the extent that it all traces back to Hesson replacing Rossco with BMac as captain - that's probably the greatest decision in NZ cricket history. (I think I was critical of it, because I thought BMac was a moron!) πŸ™‚

Lol I remember listening onthe radio to the Aussie commentators as Vettori came onto the field to bat and they were talking about his run scoring record and ability to hold the tail together as our top order (yet again) failed.

One of them said "He should come out to bat on a white horse". That lines stuck in my mind forever πŸ™‚
