Gatland

@nonpartizan 100% Firmly believe you have to keep moving forward in life. There are exceptions when you realise quickly or your path goes full circle, but once there’s a bit of distance been created it’s time to find something else, something new to focus on.

Shame it ended like this. But he shouldn’t have gone back either.
It's funny how in life this so often proves to be true. You go back to a situation and somehow it's just not possible to recreate the magic of earlier times.
It's a shame things did not end on a high note for him.
The man did get paid though....

Daily Mail reporting Gatland is out as Wales coach
The least surprising news of the 6Ns

Good on you, Gats
How's the hell is the temp guy going to coach Cardiff and coach Wales (totally from scratch, and mid tournament) at the same time?
-
The payout thing does not surprise me. He did not do it for the money. Yes he was paid but ffs what would anyone expect?
Class gesture. Eddie Jones please take note.

@ploughboy Yeah, that's possible. He is part of the Chiefs family and they've said he would be welcomed back.
Maybe after a break he might want to get back into the saddle and prove he can coach at Super level.
Didn't he so that before and was found wanting?

Yep, that's my point, he might want to prove he can succeed at Super.

His winless season might scare teams off

I’m a huge Gatland fan but I’m not an apologist
He’s been stabbed in the back by some very ordinary ex-players who would not have been selected for other 6N sides let alone World sides.
But he does have to take responsibility for poor choices
Howley et al have not brought anything to the table
And he’s continually ignored in-form players like Jarrod Evans, Max Llewelyn, and Cam Winnett to name just three in favour of other players who aren’t delivering.
