Woeful performance from Wales.
Gats has talked about overplaying all week & yet when we had a 5 metre lineout in the 1st half we tried a ridiculous front peel move with the hooker.
There's some sub standard players in this Welsh squad but they all look like they've been coached by an amateur coaching team.
Getting Gats back was never going to end well but I never imagined it would be this bad. -

Just watched the highlights. Skipped through most of it... until the end, when it suddenly became interesting.
Skipping through "highlights" - a sad indictment on the game. But even doing that - I could tell the commentary was horrible. Just getting cut-off snippets of obviously inane statements... should be interesting, but... nope. -
Fair points, Gatland is well past his best before and hasn't evolved. I'm worried we've got the same in NZ with the professor back involved in ABs. 'we've got to win it using our attacking DNA' 🙄 Yes it worked for women's rugby but that is a complete different game than men's ATM

Even though you're like @Bones and his hatred towards Will Jordan on this topic, I do agree with you on it.

@Kruse Wales are on a 14 game losing streak and it was pissing rain. Not sure what you were expecting from this game.
Yeah was a tough grind and the ball was like a bar of soap out there, which did make things hard out there.
I thought Italy did OK as they were playing as favourites for probably the first time in their history. They won the aerial battle with Ioane outjumping Murray for the majority of the game, and beat Wales up in contact until Wainwright came on, and didn't allow Wales to get in their territory until the last 10 mins.

A highlights "package" that didn't inspire skipping through?
I thought I'd made that clear. Or implicit. -
Second undercoat on the wall. Watched this. Even after acknowledgiung the weather, this was an abjectly poor game.
Almost as poor as the Welsh attack. First 90 seconds gave a glimpse when you could've thrown a blanket over the Welsh forwards getting in each other's way, ball comes to Ben Thomas who clearly didn't know what to do with it, decides to run to his right where the Welsh attackers are clearly outnumbered by the Italian defenders.
Gatland, if he has an ounce of integrity, should fall on his sword. As should anyone else responsible for selecting Williams to be starting halfback.

Depending on your sauces either
Gatland’s resignation will be accepted this weekend and Wales will have an interim coach for the remainder of the tournament
Gatland’s resignation will be accepted at the end of the tournament
Either way Wales has to approach the remaining fixtures with a new game plan and different personnel with which to execute it
If fit, the backs are easy
Liam Williams / Cam Winnett
T Rogers
M Llewelyn
E James
J Adams
G Anscombe / B Thomas
T Williams / E BevanWill have a think about the forwards
