The Breakdown (TV Show)

Bump.
I see that Sky and JK have parted ways. It could be a good thing.
I don’t mind Kirwan, love his honesty. No doubt they would have replaced him just to tick another box.

I’d love to see the demographic breakdown (pardon the pun) of those who regularly watch shows like The Breakdown and their ilk in the UK
Are the presenters and pundits representative of the audience?

Kirwan seems like a nice guy. Punditry and commentary did not suit him.
I’ve got a great JK story, which long story short, involved him helping me look cool enough that I ended getting laid with a very good looking young lass.
All I can say is that sometimes it is nice to meet your heroes.
-
Think my time spent watching the show has diminished over time, but when I did tune in it was to hear what JK said. Mils doesn’t really say anything new and Goldie was a good foil for JK. The other rotating guests were always a bit hesitant or nice, or played the joker card.
Always good to move on a year early rather than a year late in any media position.

JK does dress a bit like a pimp sometimes

The format seemed very tired last year. It needs a rethink.
That said I didn't think John Kirwan was the worst aspect of the show. He has opinions and a deep passion for the game. Some of his stories got repetitive but he was one the show's better communicators.

I thought JK was decent. Shame if they replace him with another vanilla fanboy.
That was my biggest problem last year. Too many pundits who thought it was their job to big up the product every twenty seconds with banalities.

From what little I saw of it the cheerleading was just cringy from all involved. Everyone too scared to say anything remotely controversial in case they got the boot….

I think all these shows have a bit of a cheerleading thing to them, almost any sports programme I have seen in world, is the same. Watch a golf, darts, athletics etc they all will all tell you how good game is. There was some commenatator on NRL (NOT sure who never really watched it, but on in pubs etc in Aus) you would hear him scream "the Greatest game in the world".
I think it's the we have to be positive vibe etc?Mind you I can't talk I like that a bit in sport (actually in life) especially rugby I see the positives and enjoy them Just figure my life is too short to look for what's wrong all the time.

He is the only one with a bit of personality on the show and was not afraid to upset people.
Clearly not what they want from their team

Wasn't life advice for anyone, just for me, you by all means should do what works for you. F*** me the last thing I am interested in suggesting how someone I will never know or care about live his/her life. I was merely confirming what I thought of show, bit of cheerleading involved, but not letting that put me off. Just enjoy the bits I do.
