Pretty rough call against NZ right at the end there.

Still fucking fantastic by Uruguay. What a day for them!

You have to wonder if the entire 7s series is in trouble? There is nobody in the crowd

Giving it to Perth was a mistake IMHO.

Then you have the veterans playing worse than the newbies.

NZ coaches seem to be incapable of bringing in new blood or letting their regulars go. Seen it in the ABs, Black Caps and sevens. It's shit.

My god that's about as bad as reffing can get, player on the ground grabs the ball and never getting up, throws it into midfield.

Every bloody game, we have at least one player having a shocker (usually a vet). This time it's both Ware and Knewstubb, with cameos from Collier.

    Something is rotten.

Cherry on top, Ormond knocks himself out without even making the tackle.

I don't recall seeing a men's 7s team playing worse. The players, skill, etc are all there, but just playing like numpties and don't seem to want to be there.

"Through the hands" doesn't seem to be the best attacking style either.

And then we look all pace and skill in the 9th place "final".

Amazing what happens when you start three talented 19 year olds and give them some rope.

    All 3 had top games

Comes down to it, who gives a fuck? I'm disappointed but don't care beyond any game/sport that NZ don't win. It's only 7s, and the worst of it is that the morons in NZR decided to give them the abs moniker. Now Uruguay have beaten the abs.

But still, as pointed out, this is another continuity pick destroying a great legacy in 7s.

Let's not fall into the trap of getting ahead of ourselves again...

The game against Fiji highlighted perfectly the problem with the AB7s. A decent start and throw away the game at 5-7 with mistake after mistake.

Kunawave showed his inexperience with some poor options. I was surprised that Cama started both newbie wingers. Not that it helped!

Hoping before the next tournament someone can introduce the ABs to the concept of tackling.
