Nesmith was a genius because he took the socal/texas country rock format and extended it.
Rio builds into a bossanova groove, and uses brazillian jazz harmonies.
What a song.
Well it’s better than his Sunset Sam song at least

Fuck - it took me ages to figure out what I was looking-at/listening-to - but once I clicked, I couldn't hear anything but the names... and I know the song well - to the point where I started doubting it was actually the original song being played.
And now I've gone to listen to the original... I can't hear anything but a stream of names. God dammit. -

Collins is considered one of the best prog rock drummers based on his work with 1970s/80s Genesis, and heaps of drummers cite him as a major influence.
Good enough for Robert Plant to use him on his early solo albums.
Oh I certainly know he has the pedigree it’s just not the first thing I think of. I think of him out front of Genesis or doing his solo stuff.

It's crazy to think about Austrian music in the 20th century, they were the superpower of music composition in the 18th and 19th centuries, and a lot of the important Hollywood composers came from there or were educated there. In the 20th century they had Falco and, unknown outside of central Europe, Supermax. It ain't Easy is an absolute banger though.
