Black Caps vs England Series

Smart review by Crawley
Tall man - batting well outside his crease - hit on the knee roll
Crawley averaging 6 this series.
No shortage of innovation from Baz, opening with a tail ender

Lol Southee creamed first ball for 4
Yeah but, think of the ‘experience’ that he brings

cant review that, a wicket for Southee!

England have the best part of 200 overs to get these runs. Getting these runs means scoring about 3.5 an over. Slogging out when facing a few overs in fading light after a long day in the field is total bonkers.
Surely he will get some stick for that in the changing room.

This England performance has become something of a pattern recently. If wins followed by an enormous tonking thanks to an abject all round performance. Wasteful with the ball and wasteful with the bat.

Part of me is actually glad this has happened as this is a fairer reflection of where this team actually is, Crawley is a slogger who shouldn't still be in the team. Stokes might be a good captain but I'm not sure he deserves to be in the team on his cricketing ability / form otherwise.
Overall, it shows how test cricket has evolved, teams don't grind games out anymore, when it starts to go wrong they have a bit of a swing and then go and play golf when it doesn't work. Batsmen can't just stay in and wait for the shine to go off the ball. Bazball is the most obvious example but it seems to be true of all teams. Assume 20:20 means players don't bother learning patience anymore.
