This isn't exactly on the coach, because he wasn't the one kicking the ball, dropping it, failing to clear rucks etc.

I always chuckle at statements like this.

If the performance of the team isn't on the coach then what is he there for? Vibes?

Tactics are for the coach, execution is for the players - although that is overly simplistic.

Beauden's silly kicks for instance - he has done them under Hansen, Foster and Robertson. He has done them all through Super Rugby. Let's be honest, that is how he likes to play rugby and no-one has ever coached it out of him. You can't put that on Robertson, although you can blame the selections.

There should be plenty to play for in the Super season.

That's what we thought this year...

At the end of the day, this test means nothing, and regardless of what happens from here, is one nobody will remember. Lest we forget last time we played Italy in Italy, it was also a shitfest.

I think this was probably partly down to the fact a bunch of old guys didn't really fancy playing properly after a long tour in zero degrees temperatures.

This isn't exactly on the coach, because he wasn't the one kicking the ball, dropping it, failing to clear rucks etc.

Sure, if we ignore he selected and coached them.

It is not all his fault though is it.

I think this is a good lesson to Razor, that at the end of a long tour, a long season (our longest ever?) when you are about to play in zero degree temperatures, picking the old guys who can't wait to get back to their families isn't the play.

The key, and we will talk about this at length, is that Robertson learns from this season, and the evidence of his coaching career is that he will. Writing him off after a year is silly, asking for him to be sacked is silly. Let’s review things at the end of next year.

He needs to be ruthless going into next year for both players and coaching team. No more bros before hoes.

Totally agree. Ball is in Robertson's court.

We lack ball carriers across the park that can bend the line consistently. You need that against fast line speed. We will struggle until we can address this issue.

I dont think Razor brought through enough new talent considering he had 14 matches.

Too conservative at the selection table.

He made me double down on players I came into the season already sick of.

Anybody know where we can get a couple of rapid, young, defensively reliable and skilled under the high ball wingers?

I don't think I've seen a player as frustrating as BB, maybe ever?

One moment he does something incredibly stupid, the next something brilliant.

    He's like a toxic girlfriend.

Cam Roigard has outscored Rieko Ioane 7 tries to 3 since he made his debut and he was injured most of this year.

Poorest AB performance I have ever seen, even poorer than the home defeats against Argentina. Positive ? The win. The whole backline was a mess, from 9 to 15. Best NZ players : Sititi (MotM for me), Aumua and maybe De Groot for his scrummaging.

He was pretty poor apart from that try in fairness, but yes, he knows how to find the tryline.

Can't believe I went through the ignominy of walking in the door of a bar named "The Kangaroo & Kiwi" to watch that shit.

with any luck you won't remember walking out.
When a pub is called Kangaroo or Kiwi I immediately think of the warning signs when an Indian restaurant is called "Taj Mahal" - big warning sign!

The forwards are ok. The backs are still a mess. I like the way they have moved to constant 2nd man plays to change the point of attack. That combination between forwards and backs looks good - though try for France that cost us the game indicates it’s not without risk.

    Not so much:

    • Reiko on the crash - the ball goes to ground maybe 75% of the time?
    • Midfield - would love to see our midfield do what Sititi does, stand players up, take a soft shoulder and unload to supporting player. Tactics, skill, execution….you would have to say that we offered very little here this year.
    • Short kicking game - use less because most of the time it gives the ball away. Stop selecting BB at 1st as he can’t help himself.
    • Wingers - Clarke offers power and aerial skill, both Telea and Reece haven’t proved as effective at international level with their elusiveness maybe not being as effective as sheer pace we have seen against us.

@BerniesCorner Reiko isn't the answer at 13, never has been. We know he offers little variation in attack, and more importantly the opposition know that too.

    He's extremely limited.
