@Mr-Fish Not sure if he’s on tour or calling the game off tube and could be subject to an audio delay?

He was calling off tube and therefore underwhelmed in what ought to be one of the most iconic moments in Wallabies history

Maloney wrote an article about it today.

Calling from studio is a bit shit as it turns out

    According to someone

    Angus Bell:
    Carries: 14
    Defenders Beaten: 9
    Passes: 5
    Offloads: 1
    Tackles: 14
    Turnovers: 1
Most defenders beaten by a Wallaby since 2019 (Koroibete against Georgia).
Most defenders beaten by a loose head prop for a T1 nation ever.

    Those are some good numbers

Yeah Bell had a game to remember. He stood tall from the get go. Very impressive and did his job in the tight too.

@NTA Hopefully this starts the turnaround - in interest as well as the team’s performance - and then his bosses will happily put him on a plane.

@NTA I remember Morgs saying put 100 in the book before this lad had even debuted.

Jesus that was a shambles, what happens when you lose your defence coach I guess, they have no idea on defence at all. Not sure who can replace Borthwick, wonder if Jones would come back as head coach. Fair play to Aus, they were a joy (ish) to watch

Ridiculous amount of tackle breaks from Bell. Got to be close to the most ever by a prop in a test? Sitting down Curry(?) was a highlight.

I have never seen such an impressive ball carrying prop since Bull Allen. That's about 30 years.

It's the most by a Tier 1 loosehead since 2010 according to Opta when they started compiling those stats.

All the more impressive considering we're a Tier 2 nation.

I've often used Bell as an example of what I wish the AB props would do with the ball in hand.

Tupou has to be the most overrated rugby player. He never scrums legally and is just as likely to drop/lose the ball when carrying as do anything positive.

Welcome to my club. IMO the hype around him has never been justified. Took to scrumming too late to be thrust into Test rugby. Looks unfit, very slow to get off the ground and loses the ball too often in contact.

Seems a tad harsh. Bell is an absolute freak. Numia is the best ball running prop in NZ but coaches prefer Bower.....

@cgrant always thought Charlie Faumauina off the bench was superb with great footwork before contact and an offload
Bell however is just a big man that just charges into contact like a raging bull , his acceleration off the mark is impressive

    "Raging Bell".

He's also got fast feet near the line. A couple of those defenders are last-step changes in direction as well as running over people
