British and Irish Lions tour New Zealand 2029

@Kiwiwomble not how I read it....
"In 2013, en route to Australia, the Lions faced the Barbarians in Hong Kong and it is understood that the purpose of any potential USA fixture in 2029 would be similar, breaking up a long journey in a sensible geographic location, rather than relocating one of the three tests against the All Blacks."

Yeah, I assume it could be an ABXV or MABs game but not one of the tests. It should be the USA, but if not it may be that they just don't see the value of playing the USA side (too weak?)

Lions tours have always kicked off with games against lesser nations. For decades it was Australia
and next year they are playing the whole tour against Tier 2, which i think is incredibly progressive.
-
fuck me! i just saw the ticket prices for next year. Absolutely not.
-
@mariner4life i didn;t even get as far as checking the price, going to be a blow out
-
i had to look because they are great events. But no way am i spending that to watch the Lions ritually disembowel the Wallabies.

care to share pricing summary (aside from 'OMFG wut')
-
i first looked at melbourne (MCG)
150 for top tier at the end. $500 for a half decent view. And that was Silver
Suncorp was $550 for all but single tickets in the worst spot

and the aussies wont pay either
it'll be all poms on junket tours
a red out
"spot the aussie"dont know about that, lots of chatter around the club about them going on sale today, obviously some expats but all the aussie in the club seem keen
-
@mariner4life even top teir is a pretty good view at the MCG
-
for AFL yes. For a rugby game? not so sure
-
@mariner4life true, and everyone has a different definition of "good", close to the action...no...good angle to follow everything etc...yes
we were pleasantly surprised when we did MARVEL (smaller i know) but was a good view for an oval stadium
-
yeah i did Marvel for the 2013 tour and thought it was good, we were in the 2nd tier i think and view was excellent.
-
@mariner4life we were top tier on half way for the Bledisloe
