Hasn't QT played a little bit of wing for the Chiefs too?
Yeah, last year he spent quite a bit of time out there on his return.
That cover is really important to me - you would never QT to start there, but in the event of an early injury you do need someone who can play wing - or you risk it costing you the game. And in these days of 23 man rugby it is a real disadvantage if you need to have wing cover on the bench, because it simply isn't a position where you are going to be as knackered as the forwards after 55 minutes. I think QT has to be in the 23, and on form he probably deserves to be starting at 12.
I wouldn't mind seeing (to get 6:2):
Ratima, McKenzie, Clarke, Tupaea, Proctor, Jordan, Love. Bench: Roigard, TavatavanawaiHowever, I do think Jordan is our best fullback, and it's very debatable whether it's worth losing that to get 6:2. 5:3 with Love on the bench is a more likely scenario - though to be fair neither are likely as we don't drop Barretts.
Was just gonna say, three out of the 23 will DEFINITELY have Barrett as a surname.

Actually that’s some pretty sobering posting from both of you there

I couldn't bring myself to listen to more than 10 seconds of these two but Ioane on the wing sounds ok to me. More compelling than an out of sorts Clarke and a short, slow Reece.

Just on Heat again, this came up on YouTube. Pretty cool. This guy had a compelling backstory and we really felt for him even though he had such limited screentime.

Different can of worms
I've never seen that one. Is that Pacino or De Niro ?

No review as such but I’ve decided to watch Heat again as it is 30 years since it was released.
Fuck me, that sure as hell makes me feel old.
Also RIP Tom Sizemore and Val Kilmer. Neither made a better movie than this.
( actually none of the cast did )
Early start so only watched half but still awesome. The other half whinged from the other room that the gunshots were too noisy. Great stuff.
Bro, some of the cast made two Godfathers.
Slightly overrated. I prefer Deer Hunter, Carlitos Way and Scarface
Sizemore did Saving Private Ryan and True Romance. Absolute classics.
Kilmer did.......well he was in True Romance as well briefly.....and Top Secret is funny as fuck if completely incomparable to any of these
John Voight did Deliverance and Midnight Cowboy
So yeah, a few maybe equal but nothing better than the movie they all made together.
> Bahahahahahaha, that movie is Cimino trying and failing to do Coppola - even Scarfarce and Carlitos Way, two films I love, aren't in the same league.
TBF if any movie is slightly overrated it would be Heat, just a glorified TV movie.
I don't have a problem with any of the others you named but Pacino and De Niro, no way.
What ? The Deer Hunter cleaned up at the Oscars, but then again so did the Godfather.
I guess it comes down to personal preference. Both bonafide classics.
Nah, as music snobbery is your thing, film snobbery is mine, you just picked the equivalent of the Jonas brothers over some "cool" rock band you rate.
I'm just as much of a film snob as a music snob thank you very much.
I think we've had this Deer Hunter argument before haven't we ? Not sure why you don't like it, did Michael Cimino turn down Hawkes Bay as one of the filming locations ?
One thing I've taken out of this, Robert De Niro doesn't have as many brilliant movies as I initially thought.

Do you often argue with yourself?
Like I clearly stated and then reinforced for good measure.

He uses a lot of hairspray to keep that combover in place
Razor better get his selections right and the team better gel or else they could get Munsoned vs this inexperienced French side.
I just hope he and the ABs don't get complacent. There's a lot of depth in French rugby and this side could well be tough opponents.
That said, a close-fought series where we blood new player/combinations would be exactly what's needed.
The key will be to strike early but make sure there's enough spare players who are fit and ready to go.
7-10 will be crucial. I just hope the players are in the right frame of mind.

Mountainhead
Don't bother. This looks like megalomaniac tech bros as interpreted by high school devotees of musical drama . At best a parody of caricatures that can't land the joke.
Lasted 10 mins with this.
This aint so Succession.
Yeah as you say, a constant stream of tech bro "bantz", none of which lands. But maybe that's the point? They're the 1% but they're not 1% as funny as they think they are and we're supposed to laugh at them not with them?
Either way, too excruciatingly cringeworthy to tolerate.
It must be shit then, Succession became crap really quick.
Will keep watching Heat I think.

Exciting times, aren't they?. Wanted change, well, .......it looks like it might be here. Hopefully, the "stagnant years" are gone, and the ABs start innovating again.
If BB starts and we go headless-chook, inside 22, chip-kicky again....... Well, I will have a bottle or two of red handy just in case.@Kruse will be a big fan of this post

Google might need to update his weight.
Some might consider that a bit lean but think how easy he'll be to lift in the lineouts.

Haven't updated this thread in a while (forgot about it haha), but I completed my 47th marathon yesterday in Wellington. 3 hours 38 mins. About my standard time these days. Hope to get to 50 by the end of the year.
Not a bad effort at all. Only 48 more than me.
You should start a thread. I'd certainly contribute, if there's one thing I'm good at its not doing marathons.

Explosiveness isn't binary. It's a spectrum.
All of those players have various levels of explosiveness to their carry - even Blackadder. They're all more explosive compared to Blackadder.
The selectors have said they want to see more explosiveness.
We will have to agree to disagree.
Even Fletcher Newell is explosive on the carry.
Granted I’m talking compared to someone standing still but it’s still comparable

My other half did the half.
Which is half more than I would ever do.
Hats off to all you crazy buggers.
