Reading daily rugby press and had a intriguing thought.
Would ABs have lost any games this year if they could have fielded a clone of PSDT?
So far, my reflections suggest they would have not, with obvious implications.
Food for thought.
Na, we had Blackadder.

Doull and Nash were both very good players.
A shame between them and Cairns they were injured all the fucken time. That would have been quite the trio had they played together more often.
Nash dragged us over the line at Lords to win a series v England I think - arguably one of his finest moments
Handy batsman at times too, definitely a bit of a “coulda been”

I can’t believe three guys average more than Hadlee.
GOAT my arse

It kills me that Esterhuizen would walk into any other team in the world and only gets to carry the water for SA. They made him watch the England warm up last week. Being a Quins fan, having André the giant outside Smith was Quins greatest strength
Tough when the guy ahead of you is de Allende!
But yes - I am a big Esterhuizen fan.
I never stress when I see him on the team sheet. The guy will deliver.
De Allende and Esterhuizen > Jordie Barrett David Havili

After Gatland's 11th consecutive loss is it time for a reevaluation of Wayne Pivac's tenure? He won the Six Nations in 2021, and though they lost 5 games in the 2022 tournament, they did beat Scotland.
…..and that in itself is basically the Everest of Rugby achievements

Doug Bracewell been out partying with the rugby boys?
Getting done three times for DUI isn’t a good look either

I don't know how accurate this is, but I did hear that the contract was formulated in such a manner that it was a sliding scale for Mike. If he knocked Paul down in the first he got nothing all the way up to the full amount in the eighth.
If true it seemed unnecessary given how little of the movement was in those old legs.
That sounds accurate.
Mind you Tyson is a loose unit, you wouldn’t put it past him to break character and KO him in the first……
…..which despite his age I’d still have backed him to do if he really wanted to

Sevu Reece didn’t put a foot wrong.
Shame about the rest of his body
Pretty cool seeing this in colour

Well you could always put Jordie back at 15 and try out Lam at 12
..but Love deserves next crack at 15 I reckon.
May as well go the whole hog and recall George Bridge for maximum lack of impact

We've lost the equal most tests in a year (2022) since 2009 & all wins against England were extremely unconvincing - We almost threw all 3 England matches at the death FFS......
I think people got carried away after beating a poor English side who lost by 6 points to Australia (Ranked 10th), then an aging Irish side who showed they aren't really at the races against Argentina as well. If we look earlier in the season, the win against Australia in Sydney was also by the skin of our teeth. Not many convincing performances this year in the big games with a win now side and a huge amount of caps.....
I would still take Schmidt/Foster from 2023 were we actually won the RC convincingly, beat Argentina 42-10 & 44-6 in the Semi's, South Africa 36-20 at Mt Smart & only lost 12-10 in World Cup final (despite having 14 men) over this facade of 'improvement'.......
I think plenty of people would love to have Sam Whitelock, Brodie Retallick Aaron Smith, and Richie Mo'unga back in the mix and they would make a difference as they did in 2003.
The wins have been clunky as has been the attack and I think that comes down to the game plan.
Our best game was against Argentina at Eden Park. I thought the French game was probably our second best effort but we couldn't quite seal the deal.
Even as little kids everyone knew they’d be superstars

@Chris most disappointing thing that Razor said was Reece and Blackadder are made for test Rugby most likely case closed.
Does that automatically make any other player NOT made for test rugby by default ? I’m confused.
ie ‘Look Wallace, I’ll give you a crack at six cos Ethan got injured even though I’m really not convinced you’re up for Test Rugby….’

You can add Ratima to that as well he was shit again.
So was Reece
Well I agreed with that if you read it I added Ratima to those 3 so your point is ?.
Was adding Reece cos I’m not sure who Rees is, some Welsh import ?

Roigard being back to his best is a huge relief. Many of us had feared that he would never get back to that level again after the horrific injury he suffered.
Ratima needs to get up to speed to compete cos it’s very much a one horse race at the moment
