Honestly,I'll be missing Ian Smith. I know some don't like his commentary style but his level of passion when commenting the Black Caps is next level!

It seems like we've treated this more like a farewell benefit series for Southee than a chance to make the WTC final.

No one in their right mind could say that Southee has performed better than Smith at anytime during the last two games.

Micheal Bracewell just played one of the most amazing innings I have ever seen.

Firebirds were chasing 227 and were 43 for 5 at one stage and somehow he pulled off a miraculous innings of 141 off 65 balls. Apparently the highest T20 score ever in NZ.

Boult is surely the premier 11 in the country!

Yeah, they keep putting up that stat about how many games India wins when chasing and Dhoni is not out. But all the ones they lose would have been like tonight were he leaves it too late and then ends up getting out.

He should be done in tests as it is. Unless he can bat in the top six he is not a good enough bowler to be in the test team.

Even on attack, Argentina making stupid decision. Pass the ball out and then you won't get held up.

NZC had a falling out with Eden Park I believe. Lots of issues, including people that live in the area being absolute fucking killjoys and making it difficult to have events that go past a certain time. But also that it's not a cricket ground. I'm sure other posters can elaborate further but the situation is an absolute farce.

Actually it comes done to the fact the Eden Park games need to finish by 10PM but Star Sports want the games to start at 3PM. I guess NZC must make more from the broadcasting rights than they do from ticket sales:

Best game of the World Cup so far, shame were on the wrong side, Hopefully that means they're copying the All Blacks and keeping the powder dry for the finals.

Far too early to tell but Adithya Ashok is probably our best chance of finding an international quality spinner in the coming years:

He has already played a T20 for NZ and is only 21. I think he will be at least as good as Sodhi and Patel but not sure yet if he will be able to reach Vettori's level.

I work for the design agency that looks after their site, it look's tens years out of date because it's probably that old. They don't like to spend money on the site so don't be expecting a refresh anytime soon.

We really needed one more accurate spin bowler, not sure Sodhi would have been the right guy but he definitely would have had more to offer than Smith.

Still reckon we should have played Boult over Scott K against England at the Mount. Yes, I can bear a grudge.

Most egregious was not getting warm up games in Aus for our tour. You cannot succeed without acclimatising.

Like I said, some mind boggling decisions. Mainly regarding selection (I can't recall any specific examples now, but I can recall being quite unhappy with some of them. Bracewell wasting a spot on the test team was one). If it was his decision to forgoe warm up games before the Australian tour, then that was a poor decision

Allowing Henry Nicholls to play on longer than he should have would have been one. It actually seems recently that we have started to promote a lot more fresh talent (maybe this hasn't been by choice) whereas previously we would keep playing the same players regardless of form.

Probably the worst selection was allowing Southee a farewell tour when we should have been going all out for a spot in the WTC final.
