Had high hopes the 'Canes would play well given their performance against the Crusaders and the AB's in the team so was mighty disappointed last night. If we are going to play like shit and cop a thrashing better to be at this end of the comp. Hope this ignites a better effort going forward or it will be a long, sad season for their fans :o(

Still feels awesome and I have watched the full game again countless times on Youtube. It will never get old ....
-

Just watched the replay, won't be the last time today, and BB's try was an awesome thing to behold. The way he chased, didn't panic and try to gather the ball too early but rather controlled it with the little kick on then gathered and scored. All class!!

Richie leading the Ka Mate post match...it just gets better and better. Kearns and co talking about how the haka is an important part of the AB culture and it should be retained despite some critics calling for it to be stopped.

Damn that was nerve racking to watch, my heart rate must have been over the top for the past 80 minutes. I couldn't keep quiet when BB scored and don't care if I woke the neighbors. Bloody awesome AB's!!!!!!!!

Six hours sleep will do, have tuned into the Fox coverage in the lead up ...had considered watching a movie up to kick off as Kearns, Horan etc get up my nose but tonight am going with the flow. Australia are worthy opponents and have earnt their place in this final - I know this may sound arrogant but not intended that way just stating the fact and of course the current WC champions have also earnt their place based on their performance over the past 4 years plus their games to date in this comp. The Wallabies fans are as passionate and proud of their team as AB fans. I had expected the commentary to be wanky as usual but so far the guys have been quite balanced and respectful of the kiwis amidst their expected parochial-ness. Plus this is keeping it real - Richie being interviewed.

Am sooooooooooooo excited .............
-

The game was the first thing I thought of when I woke up 10 mins ago ...it's going to be a long day.
-

I recall Foxtel giving watchers the option awhile back for a big game...maybe the 2011 final..of either listening to the Aussie commentators or pressing the red button and swithcing to the kiwi commentary. Be great if they could do that again.

Just wanting to clarify that the 2am RWC final time in the Foxtel Guide is actually 2am across the whole of Aussie ...stuck question mark button...glue mishap thingy...I know there will be an hour of pre-game stuff and kick off will be 3am but am concerned that the actual times will be an hour earlier here in Qld.
-

I've heard that Phenergan works a treat, mix it with his juice 10 mins before the haka and he'll be snoring like a ...er...baby by kick off... :good: ...or on second thoughts, drugging your child is not the best move, ignore that suggestion!!!
-

I've gotten the boys this far by watching alone in my TV room wearing only boxer shorts. I don't want to hex this game by having other people around or being fully clothed.

Fark these world cups are an ordeal. Does anyone here actually enjoy them?

Good on you, don't change any of the usual procedures, that would be just asking for trouble! To be honest I don't think I truly relax and enjoy an AB's v Wallabies game until:

1) we are ahead by at least 10 in the final 10 and looking strong and disciplined or,

2) ahead by 10 in the final 20, looking strong and disciplined and the opposition have lost the plot and have a man in the bin, or

3) am watching the replay of a close game and we won.

I do relax and enjoy AB games against the NH sides, even the French... and tests where the AB's arn't playing.
-

Will get to bed early Sat night and set the alarm for approx 45 mins before the game starts. Early nights and early starts are my usual routine so not a big deal thankfully.

I need to be alone when watching these types of games as I am incredibly nervous which results in a) a lot of loud swearing b) getting immensely irritated if there are any interruptions - my responses to others when like this isn't good e.g. told my teenage son to 'f' off during a game several years ago when he had the audacity to barrack for the Wallabies, even tho he was born here in QLD ! and c) a lot of pacing and-or needing to be physically busy when games are close- I dusted the lounge last week during the 2nd half of the AB v SA semi.

Alcohol isn't my friend so I will be taking the dog for his morning walk after the game proudly wearing my AB's cap whether we win or lose.

If we win I will spend Sunday like a pig in mud happily watching the replays, texting family and friends, maybe a nanna nap, a spot of gardening and checking into the fern of course and finish off the day with a lamb roast and a replay before bed.

If we lose it will be horrible...
