From the NZR Judiciary
Mitre 10 Cup - Jarrad Hoeata cited for striking opponent
North Harbour lock Jarrad Hoeata has been suspended for one week for striking an opposition player in his team’s Mitre 10 Cup match against Northland on Thursday 14 September.
Hoeata was cited under law 10.4.a for the alleged striking in the 82nd minute of the match. North Harbour won 31-22.
New Zealand Rugby Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC said it was a reckless action but primary contact was on the shoulder area, making it a low end offence with an entry level sanction of a two week suspension.
Taking into account Hoeata’s admission of guilt and his apology to the opposition player the suspension was reduced to one week.
Hoeata’s suspension includes all rugby and means he will miss North Harbour’s top of the table match against Canterbury in Albany on Saturday.
Mitre 10 Cup - Fraser Armstrong cited for striking
A citing against Manawatu prop Fraser Armstrong for striking an opposition player in his team’s Mitre 10 Cup match against Waikato on Saturday 16 September has been dismissed.
Armstrong was cited under law 10.4.a for the alleged striking in the second minute of the match. Manawatu won 23-10.
New Zealand Rugby Judicial Officer Roger Drummond dismissed the citing after a full hearing which determined the incident did not meet the red card threshold.
Armstrong will be free to play in Manawatu’s match against Northland this evening.
Mitre 10 Cup - Levi Aumua red card hearing results in three week suspension
Ta$man centre Levi Aumua was red carded for dangerous play in his team’s Mitre 10 Cup match against Otago on Saturday 16 September.
Referee Mike Fraser red carded Aumua for dangerous play (law 10.4.j) for lifting and dropping a player in the 56th minute of the match. Ta$man won the match 29-27.
New Zealand Rugby Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC found Aumua’s clean disciplinary record, his apology and remorse as mitigating factors to discount a six-week suspension to three.
Aumua’s suspension from rugby includes Ta$man’s matches against Southland (24 September), Taranaki (28 September) and North Harbour (4 October).
Jock Hobbs Memorial National Under 19 Tournament - Chris Hicks red card
Wellington Under 19 flanker Chris Hicks was red carded in his team’s match against Manawatu at the Jock Hobbs Memorial National Under 19 Tournament on Saturday.
Hicks was ordered off for dangerous play (law 10.4.j) for lifting and dropping a player in the fourth minute of the match. Wellington won the match 24-20.
New Zealand Rugby Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton QC found several mitigating factors that resulted in the entry level sanction of a six week ban being reduced to two weeks.
As the Under 19 representative season is complete, the application of Hicks’ suspension will be determined when his upcoming playing scheduled is confirmed.

@kiwimurph That description fits Craig Philpott perfectly!
He probably already has a print of this on his desk: http://www.aucklandrugby.co.nz/newsarticle/52714

'Must have championship experience'
Here is the listing
http://globalelitesports.com/job/auckland-rugby-union-npc-head-coach/White shouldn't be eligible based on this
you will have proven experience leading High Performance Rugby Teams as a Head Coach at the equivalent of NPC (provincial level) or higher and demonstrated a track record for developing people (coaches and players) into leaders within teams which promotes high performing/achievement cultures. Your success as a Head Coach will be illustrated in your proven track record of winning competitions

Also Bevan Cadwallader (ex Ta$man and Sydney Uni) deserves more criticism than he has been getting. He's the backs coach. He claimed the Auckland backs were looking shit hot in the Northland game until the rain arrived.. it's just a matter of time before they 'click'
Reading between the lines there seems to be some friction between White and him too. White said something like "at least the pack is going well" after one of the recent matches
Ultimately it's Whites fuckup though. The Pivac/Feeney side was developing well. White took over a good side that was on the rise.
Whitcombe should mirror his playing career and move down the highway..

Yeah that clown needs to be sent packing along with White. The Auckland backs are an absolute shitshow and are actually worse than the forwards.

Nick White's contract is up at the end of the year and he has confirmed he will not be re-applying for the role.

@tim That question occurred to me, but on closer inspection I think a track record of coaching the Merivale-Papanui midgets to successive titles might be enough.
But if you're looking for someone who meets the criteria in credible competitions the recent pool isn't deep - even without worrying about availability. "Competitions" (plural) - Hansen, Razor, Rennie, Sir Graham, Penney - can't think of too many others ... Robbie Deans!!!!

I was just thinking the other day that might be an option for him to prove himself. But then I thought (and hope) he might be better off staying with Northland. He must be building a good reputation given he left on a high, the team went to mud when he left and he's turned them around all with largely the same personnel. I think he will prove himself more by staying at Northland than going to Auckland. Whilst he's got Northland playing well again, we're still not likely to win the Championship this year, If he stays another few years, gets us promoted and keeps us competitive there it's arguably a bigger achievement than getting Auckland back into the top 3 given the resources available. He would be under a lot less pressure too. I guess the flipside is getting out of his comfort zone and proving he can do it in a bigger set up before looking to make the next step up to Super Rugby

my sons U12 team that I coach came 1st equal this season, although I am more an assistant coach than head coach.
TBF, Auckland need to aim high, they should not be where they are on the table, you have guys like Fekitoa & Moala who do not look like ABs out there in the slightest.
But what I think it highlights is that there is more to the Blues and Warriors woes than just coaching, seems more an Auckland problem than anything else...not that I know what the problem is.

just coaching
There are other issues but coaching is absolutely the key one here
Ignoring Canterbury for a second (Canterbury have pulled away from the pack, have excellent coaching and recruitment and its up to the others to catch up) and consider results of non Canterbury coaches.
The best non Canterbury coach in terms of results this century is Pat Lam, the second best is Wayne Pivac, then Colin Cooper.
So when Auckland has a decent coach they win competitions, win Ranfurly shields, a final appearance is par and being knocked out in a semi is a failureThe correlation between good seasons and Pivac/Lam is huge. As is the correlation with bad seasons and Anscombe/White
