@Bovidae so they can rest cirikidaveta and shalfoon?
Shalfoon is also injured, as are Parkinson, Strange and Max Hicks. We also don't have Frizell, whom we've often used at lock - so with five locking options out, we've signed a replacement.
While you guys wet your pants in fear, I think I'll wait and see how Isaac goes. A 35 year old who's spent 10 years playing in Japan....

So Michaela starts the year on crutches and Aidan ends the year on crutches. There must be something in the water.

@antipodean will be stoked at the Wellington/Otago appointment
That appointment seems a bit strange in that Mr. Gardiner will have to undergo the 14 day isolation period before he can ref. Perhaps he has come here to get a number of first class games under his belt, something unavailable to him in Aus where it is just Club rugby at present, until getting some RC games to ref, assuming the Boks and Argies turn up.
-
Gardner is also the assistant ref the next day at the same stadium for Bledisloe 1 on Sunday.

WTF.. Maybe we can call in an ex AB half way through the season?

exactly my point, no normal team can do this
although if this South China Lions comes to fruition, perhaps Beijing of Plenty?

Why not?
You could give Wyatt Crockett or Tim Perry a ring - though Wyatt just bought a new sports shop in Richmond, so he's probably a bit busy.
Though in fairness, the ex- Ta$man prop you probably should target is Tristan Moran, whom you were fucking happy to poach back in the day, when Tew was trying to get rid of us.

@Chris-B I knew there was a reason I didn't completely dislike Steve Tew

Seems like there's probably quite a few unemployed ex-ABs floating around.
Waikato picked up Messam and Counties picked up Read - and they're both quite ordinary teams.
(I can't believe how funny I am!)

Anyone know if Xav Roe has signed for a Super Rugby team yet?
-
I haven't heard anything.
How long was Milo-Harris signed for? If he only had a 1 yr contract then the 3rd halfback spot at the Chiefs is open.
-
Weber has an out clause so hopefully he uses it, kinda done with him at the Chiefs. Roe would be a great pick up. Be keen on another rookie as well, Ratima looks good, Carter has trained with the Chiefs last year.

Carter played in the Chiefs' preseason game in Waihi earlier in the year, on the wing no less. He is younger than Roe, Milo-Harris being a couple of years older than both. M10 Cup form might be the decider as Roe will get to play against both.

A great day for Harbour across the board. Our U18s, 19s and B’s all had wins over Northland.
-
Has anyone been able to find the decision about Slade McDowall's suspension? I can't find it on the M10 Cup website.
I did hear that he got a suspension of 3 weeks and that Koroi was cited, too, but that that citing was dismissed. Would appreciate reading the decisions though.

@Stargazer yeah, havent heard anything and forgot if im homest

I have a lot of sympathy for referees often, but there are as many bad decisions going on as wrong decisions. It's a tough sport, but goddamn we're in a big ebb of quality refs

This game was always likely to be refereed by one of the refs involved in the test the following day (O’Keeffe, Williams or Fraser).

Again a citing and decision not published by NZR:
Veteran prop Ben May has been handed a two-week suspension for dangerous play during the Auckland match.
Can't remember the incident.

eye gouge/poke on Blake Gibson
-
Why can't NZR just publish all judiciary news. It's not that hard, geez. I heard from someone in the know, that they don't even send out media releases, so the media don't know about it either. Bloody idiots.
-
That's a pretty light sentence for an eye gouge, especially as May didn't get punished for it during the match.

Clear red card incident, reviewed by the TMO and no action taken during the game
Any consequences for the officials?

Agreed. That's shocking.

The TMO and the referee were focusing on Riccitelli and did not see that it was Ben May, who was standing on the latter's side, who was the culprit. Actually, Riccitelli did nothing wrong.
What was stunning is that the producer did see the incident and kept his cameras on Ben May, but it did not get the TMO's attention. -
-
@Stargazer good to see him stay in NZ. Almost don't recognise him, beard maybe?
