Disappointing not to see Tom Florence in the mix. Really impressed last year and he outplayed Papalii when they took on Auckland. The Naki do have some quality loosies though.
Florence is used more as a 7 for the Naki, and won't start ahead of Boshier. Parete isn't playing in this game either, an indication of their depth at lock/loose forward.

Ta$man Mako to play Canterbury
What date is the All Black squad for RWC named? The tournament itself is only 8 weeks away, so I'd assume pretty soon after TRC concludes.
In which case, it seems to me that if Liam Squire had much intention of playing at the World Cup, he'd be playing in this game.

Went to the game. Taranaki were good in the first half. Boshier was good. Naholo was good. The fullback was good. Sowakula was good. Auckland were really good in the second half. Rayasi was great. Plummer was good in the second half. A few unknowns for me but Auckland were far better on the day.
