Really feel for Dave Hewitt, who is a great guy and wants to stay in Canterbury.
Seems he has been tarred by the Blackadder brush.

Wairarapa Bush coach Josh Syms leaves WaiBush for a development role with Hutt Old Boys Marist and Wellington Rugby.
-
Hopefully the appointment of the new Wellington Head Coach won't be another family affair.
-
Wairarapa-Bush has a new head coach: former Wai-Bush and NZ Heartland captain Joe Harwood has been appointed for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He was one of the team's assistant-coaches for the last two seasons.
Interesting:
Additionally the board has announced a number of strategic initiatives which they hope will continue the development of rugby in Wairarapa. Among them is by 2019 fielding a Heartland team made up of local players and “players of origin” only. “We need a couple of seasons to get there but the timing is right.” Hargood says, given the reliance on “import players” from all Heartland teams – particularly the top echelon – it is a bold step, but one they are ready to commit to.

Taranaki have beaten off the advances of other provincial rugby unions and signed All Blacks apprentice Jordie Barrett and Canterbury halfback Logan Crowley. The home grown pair were unveiled at Taranaki Rugby HQ on Tuesday with a third signing expected to be announced shortly.
I expect that third signing to be Ricky Riccitelli

BOOM!

Don't think Jordie Barrett will play many games for the Naki. He may be a (playing) All Black soon, if he has a good Super Rugby season. Same with Riccitelli if he impresses again in 2017. He may well be next year's apprentice or become the third hooker.

The Ta$man Rugby Union is in the market for a new assistant coach following Mark Hammett's decision to remain fulltime with the Highlanders. Hammett originally signed a two-year deal with the Ta$man union in 2015 when he joined head coach Leon MacDonald at the helm for Ta$man's 2016 national provincial championship campaign. (...) However, after a season as head coach of Japan's Sunwolves franchise in last year's Super Rugby competition, Hammett subsequently signed on as assistant coach at the Highlanders until 2019. Ta$man boss Tony Lewis said that while Hammett had every intention of rejoining Ta$man for this year's national provincial championship campaign, he realised that the job was more demanding than he'd anticipated and was unable to fulfil the second year of his Ta$man contract.
