NPC - news, injuries etc

@stargazer These pics show him training with the chiefs recently so I would guess a training ground accident?
-
The shield was designed as a trophy for football, not rugby and the centrepiece showed football but had been modified by adding higher goal posts on the football goals.
Surprised to read that. I've never seen a picture that was clear enough to see that centrepiece in detail.

@Nepia I hope he keeps his mitts off Bay players! I'm glad our squad is so young that most players have never played under him.
Maybe he'll poach Ben May off us to make @Higgins happy?
But yep, we have to keep our young guys around, although I see that Napier Boys High are doing a poor job at preparing players for the Magpies and their big stars are heading to Wellington. For shame Napier Boys, for shame.

@Nepia Who are the big stars heading to Wellington?

Anyone know how Tim Farrell is progressing?
-
@Canes4life Yep, the Canes could have two Bay developed hookers in their squad in future. Kereru-Symes is already training with them; Tyrone Thompson is now on track, too.

Sorry, no idea, but he's a promising LH; the Canes would be idiots to let him go. We'll know more about how he's going once the Canes Dev team starts playing, provided he's picked.
For a future TH from the Bay, it will be interesting to see how Josiah Tavita-Metcalfe progresses this year - hopefully getting more Magpies caps after getting limited game time in 2018 due to injury - and I'm also keen to find out which province has nabbed Patrick Teddy from Napier Boys. Tavita-Metcalfe is definitely one to watch (one of the Hastings Boys 2017 champions team).
-
@Stargazer Oh right, he is on the mend from injury though isn't he? The recent announcement of JTA leaving and the likes of T Smith, C Eves & B May coming to the end of their careers means the development and acquisition of young props like Fidow, Farrell, Teddy, Numia and Tevita-Metcalfe are crucial. It will be interesting to see how Fraser Armstrong comes on this year aswell.
Shit, let's hope Teddy hasn't gone to Canterbury.

@Stargazer Our cunning plan must be to sign up all NZ's props!
Crockett, Hames, Perry, Lomax and Moli on the books - plus several others.
It was AB loosies last year ... shall we just call you the Ta$man Chequebooks from now on?

@Chris-B You might even beat Canterbury in a playoff game some time ...
Hang on, hang on.
Until you guys floundered your way through this year, we were the ONLY team who'd beaten them in a play-off game for about a decade!
