@chris-b Aumua and Guyton aside, that's a very solid team.

    Finlay Christie is still around?

@chris-b Surely that should be Havili at 12, not 11? (not sure how to read your list without numbers)

Canterbury can turn out a backline Inc Drummond, Ennor, Bridge and McKay which is some exciting talent. Par?

I'd probably take their backs and our forwards. Ta$man might have the best back line in the competition. Taranaki might be better? The Canterbury forward pack wouldn't look out of place starting in super rugby.

    .

I somehow expected Hugh Renton to be named in the squad, after being named in the Crusaders squad for the French Baabaas game. All indications are that he won't return to the Magpies. Signed somewhere else, or injured again? Or giving his studies priority?

@stargazer he’s been named in Canterbury metro. So he’ll probably get some game time.

One Sydenham player, just the usual bias.

@chchfanatic is there a squad list somewhere for Canterbury metro?

I see somewhere that Ray Nu'u is at Southland this year. Looks decent from what I saw of him.

Is Matty Johnson any good? I didn't notice him last year, but he was one of the Rugby Alminac's players of the year.
