If I were the ARU/NZRU I'd be trying to get a few photos of the lads pissing it up in the Village with Swedish handballers/Ukrainian gymnasts/Brazilian volleyballers.

Olympic golf starts tonight with the men up first. Should be pretty interesting as its a relatively immature course with not a lot of trees at all an no real rough, just a huge amount of bunkers, lots of water and about 30-40 of the worlds biggest rodents making themselves at home on the course.

Danny is in the 2nd group so an early start at 7.41am local time (so 10.41 here I think) and playing with Harrington and Manassero so not a bad group.

Foxy is off at 10.36am with Cjehka of Germany and Olsesen from Denmark.

There's a little rivalry between Lee and Manassero (unbeknownst to them): Manasser broke Danny Lee's record as the youngest ever winner on the European Tour. Go get revenge Danny!

With such a small field there is no really bad afternoon tee times where a golfer has to play all 18 holes battling the wind. So scoring should be low throughout.

The course is relatively short, too, so should suit Foxy who could bomb his way around. Really unfortunate that it's not a team's event with alternate shot. Foxy could crush it off the tee and Danny's short iron and wedge game could then knock near the hole.
-

Seems Sir Clive Woodward has been laughing it up on the BBC coverage which alot of other countrys pick up and really hammering home 'The All Blacks' lost to Japan, 'The All Blacks' are out at the quarter finals, 'The All Blacks' only won 1 out of 4 games .

I thought Lord Bald used to tell his players to refer to them as New Zealand not the All Blacks. -

Just as given the opportunity some would specialise in the 100m moonwalk. Technically difficult and not the fastest way to cover the distance... ;)
-

now there is an olympic event i could get behind.

Yeah not a long course and a rear opportunity coming home as 16 17 18 have real potential for an eagle birdie eagle finish....

Saw saw vids from Danny and Foxys practice round. Danny was just in awe with how far Fox was hitting it off the tee. His swing speed is like 125mph! -

Oh FFS not only did not not play like All Blacks, they are not not acting like All Blacks after the match. I know there are plenty of rabid fans that will crucify the ref, but to have the coach and players come out after the game and whinge like that is bloody pathetic. Just give Fiji their dues and take it on the chin.

Those comments are frankly embarrassing. Time for Titch to be put out to pasture. Perhaps he and Quinn can go to the same retirement village and regale each other with tales of past glory.

Totally agree. Contrast that with the attitude after the France QF exit in '07. Not a peep about the ref from anyone despite all the leading questions in the aftermath.
-

Trouble is, Kirani James from Grenada (pop. 109,590) is a near-lock to win a medal in the 400m, probably gold, which puts them top of the per capita standings by a country mile!
-

He said we got penalised off the park. Then said the players weren't happy with the decisions, and that he'd view the footage and perhaps comment further. All I see there is whinge whinge whinge.
-

THey were pinged alot, but then, maybe they deserved it, especially when they were playing catch up without the ball, they were having to push things harder, another viewing might give that insight.

I think on any other day, the number of balls the Fijians put down, either bounce for us or forward, and turnover, today, they bounced for Fiji.

I've never particularly warned to Tietjens as a person, you'd have to point a gun at my head to get me to even open his biography.

Maybe he stood still and the game moved on, maybe NZ just wasn't good enough but by Christ they didn't deserve to be in a quarter final, if they had beaten Fiji it would have been an absolute fucken travesty.
-
