Well done ladies. A strong finish.
My god Dame Lisa is one tough women. Clearly headed and the Germans were pulling away but she gritted her teeth and refused to be beat and dug in real hard to get narrowly in front and doggedly hung on.
-
Now time for the men to pull their weight. Not holding my breath.
-
What a moment for Lisa Carrington, her sixth Olympic gold medal, and seventh overall. That's a first Olympic medal for Alicia Hoskin, Tara Vaughan, and Olivia Brett.

If we finish in the top 5 we will have done pretty well.
Oz and Germans fighting for the gold I reckon.
-
False start
-
Hope that false start rattles some of the fancied teams 😉
-
Looks like we have been nobbled by the Indian bookies - fortunately not C2 like thankfully.
-
That was a close finish but to the naked eye I thought ze Germans had just done it.
-
We've pushed ahead of Ireland now on silvers. Thank goodness for that.
It has been a pretty good Olympics all up. Be good to get 2 or 3 more golds and make it a great Olympics for us.
-
What a fantastic men’s K4 race - Germans and OZ right to the wire.
-
The sailing has been a bit of a car crash by the looks of it, barely any wind throughout. GB having a shocker in what is usually one of our stronger sports, no idea why
-
BBC's now showing the Canoe Racing.
-
We are now on 12 medals including a bronze in sailing. Does Lisa Carrington compete in other events in addition to K4?
-
Linda Ko on 6 under in the Golf. In second place. Just two shots behind the leader Metraux.

K1 at least. We have two in that class and could go 1-2

Lisa willed us over the line first. Great effort by the girls in the face of an immense challenge by the Germans

Lids still two behind Metraux who is in the clubhouse. She's running out of holes to catch up. Korda is closing, two shots back, tied for 4th
-
What is a realistic medal tally, we are on 12, would 15 be more realistic than 20?

Ko bogeyed the last so she is -5 in third and three shots off the lead.
-
Putting on my other hat and supporting the Swiss women’s beach volley team. Easy on the eye and leading the Canucks.

@Dodge Gold for GB's Ella Aldridge just now in the Women's Kite.
Reverse commentators curse. That looks bloody good fun though. Wonder how big the foil would need to be to carry me though…
-
Anyone for another gold medal
-
Ellesse Andrews wins the Women's Keirin.
It's Gold Medal number 5 for New Zealand!!!!
-
Just thinking of all the NZers who are going to be waking up soon and learning of two Gold Medals overnight.
Five million people, five Olympic Gold medals and these games aren't done.
-
NZ 12th in the medal table.
-
The golf is interesting with no cut line, so it, like LIV doesnt follow the traditioanal format: it would be interesting to see how many of those beyond the "usual" cut line climbed into the top 10 say.
Do players get ranking points from this?
On the wall climbing, I reckon they should have to start a metre back from the wall rather than pretty much on the wall with grips and foot hold ready to boost up.

Benjamin Thomas of France wins the Men's cycling Ominum to the delight of the home nation's crowd.
14th Gold for the hosts.

Fabulous 200 metres men's final.
A superb performance from Letsile Tebogo of Botswana to win.

Ellesse Andrews wins gold 🥇 in the Keirin!

US Athletics has announced that Noah Lyles has Covid.
He ran 19.70 and secured the bronze medal with Covid. He must be a doubt for the relays.
-
Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan threw 92.97 and Olympic record to lead in the Javelin.
-
Fantastic M Hockey Final
-
Neeraj Chopra of India in second place in Javelin with 89.45.
Still on second round. A good India Vs Pakistan battle ahead.

Some of the Aussie swimmers competed with COVID, so if he can go he could still race
-
Man, the USA track team are Fast....even with covid Lyles and Sydney in the 400m hurdles are a cut above...
-
Serbia leading the USA 54-43 at half time in the Basketball semi final.

Always good to wake up to 2 more gold medals!! The kerin win was gusty, get to the front on the last lap and back yourself to stay in front all the way was a brave call but a very good one. K4 was excellent, the girls hung in there to stay close enough to the Germans and then timed their run perfectly at the end to pull ahead.
Dame Carrington with 6 gold medals (and with the potential of more to come) - what a national treasure she is!!
