An official is usually with the player when they're sin binned (or should be since all other sports do) so they allow the binned player onto the field once they know the player is on-side which is a matter of seconds. Simple. Fuck, I should really run World Rugby....
-

Silver was best we could have realistically done. We would beat that Aussie team about once in every 6 or 7.
-

you have an issue with Water Polo but not synchronised swimming....wonder why

Plenty of sports, hobbies or past times have a required skill level and some form of reasonable physical involvement and there are plenty of sports I dont think should be at the games, but there will be plenty who disagree.

Surely we can all agree Poker is not a sport, I mean they play it on the sports channel so someone is confused enough to think it it one!
-

ESPN played some college spelling bee on sky sports once. No shit. Fucken exciting it was too, the nerdy white kid with glasses beat the nerdy Asian kid with glasses. Thank goodness it wasn't a maths event.
-

The issue with allowing them back on is: where?

The issue is where the mandated penalty is 10% of the game time in a final and instead it turned into a 20% penalty.

A sport like AFL with an interchange bench has strict rules around where a player may enter or leave the field of play for interchange. Then an official has to monitor that as well.

You can run on from the sideline regardless because the ball is dead as per Law 3.13

It's a simple amendment for 7s to make that the player can come back on in an onside position as long as the timekeeper responsible for the yellow card is happy the penalty has been served.

Can we put the fucking rugby laws discussion on its own fucking thread.

Olympics: every 4 years.

Rugby law conundrum; every fucking ruck, maul, scrum, card of every fucking game, every season. -

I reckon Archery should take over from Darts. Archers at the back of the hall shooting over the heads of beer swilling fans underneath. Modify the scoring system a little to introduce some of the drama of darts, sets that finish with a "double". Loud music. Darts would be history in no time.

And on the Sevens - Aussies now the team to beat in Women's 7s after NZ dominated for a few years. Women's team seems to be modelled on the Men's without out and out speedsters but with everyone having pace and power. The game has come on a bit in recent years with more competitive teams and the defence ramping up - good to see. Looked like NZ needed one more game breaker out there, it was Kayla and Portia and if they don't do it then nobody will. What happened to Honey Hireme (Honey Bill)?

And I only listened on the radio but even I was urging them to kick it out when they were on attack with 6 players. They just had to avoid conceding until they were back to 7.
-

The Lamb pub in Devizes, Wiltshire has a shooting gallery in the pub. You can blaze away while sipping on a cold brew.

"At first hearing, the pairing of firearms and alcohol seems a bit unconventional, but the shooting range has lived happily in The Lamb for more than a century, having been introduced, post-Boer War, with a view to improving the marksmanship of the locals ready for the conflicts to come.

Ironic, really, that the authorities should seek to introduce lethal weaponry to an establishment where, traditionally, differences have been resolved peacefully. “We don’t get fights in here,†says Ricky"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/9489794/Pint-to-Pint-The-Lamb-Inn-Devizes-Wiltshire.html -

As any good vexillologist would know, the NZ ensign became law by act of Parliament in 1902. The Australian in 1903. To avoid confusion, make them pavlova stealing flag copyists in the west island change their Jonny come lately national dish cloth. -

I don't watch a lot of women 7s and I know based on history (and that game) that they are a better side but I don't think the gap is so big that we couldn't have won that game. A few decisions going the other way and that game could been in the balance until the very end.
