Bowlers and batters sliding around like there's grease on the popping crease.
given how injury prone Williamson is these days he better not do a hammy on the crease!

Macca and Gower are good value in the commentary box
Indeed. Was just thinking how much of a downgrade Sumo is at first drop...
He’s doing alright.
Its always tough to follow a couple of guys who played for their respective countries

Haven’t followed the conditions reporting but this deck looks awfully green.

Good first hour.
Not ideal losing Conway early, but that happens.
Don’t think England have bowled very well, a bit all over the place really.
Apart from Conways wicket, I can only remember one other over where out batters look troubled, that was when Kane nicked a couple short of the slip cordon.
Latham has cruised along really, just waiting for the bad balls and putting them to the boundary when they come.
Big opportunity to kick on here.

anyone else having utter shit quality from the streaming? I am casting through the app and it is potato level
so, casting from the TVNZ app is utter rubbish.
The built in app on my smart TV is top quality.
I have no idea any more.

Did we "first test at the 'gabba" them and trick them in to bowling first?

Quite possibly, they’ve got a few to seam around but on the whole there hasn’t been any demons in the pitch.
Should be great to bat on this arvo.
-
Shame 2 wickets down though given the attack and lack of demons

Kane has now moved past Graham Gooch on the all time Test run scorers list. Now 19th of all time. https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/most-runs-in-career-223646

I'll risk a ban and say 114/2 at lunch after being put into bat is a great result, especially as our two best players are still at the crease.

This is a great stat i learnt about Kane earlier today..
Don Bradman scored a Test hundred every three innings, approximately speaking. Who holds the corresponding record in ODIs? asked Tim Sanderson from England
Don Bradman scored 29 hundreds in his 80 Test innings, a rate of better than one every three - he reached 100 in a staggering 36.25% of his Test innings. Next (of those who batted at least 30 innings) come a pair of West Indians: George Headley, with ten centuries in 40 innings (25%) and Clyde Walcott with 15 in 74 (20.27%). The leading current player is Kane Williamson, with 32 hundreds in 180 innings (17.77%), just ahead of Harry Brook (six in 35, or 17.14%).
