This puts NZs result into even more perspective. That was some result for us.

Australia in heaps of trouble in this Test. Is this a one-off bad Test for them or is their team in decline?
This series is going to be fascinating.
Let’s face it, India will win this test.
But that’s on the back of us beating them 3-0 in their own backyard after ourselves being hammered 2-0 by Sri Lanka.
Test cricket is all over the place at the moment and I love it.
Anyone dare to predict how England will go here in a couple of weeks time ?

@sparky Don't know about decline - but, they're certainly close to needing some renewal.
McSweeney is the only one in the XI who is aged less than 30.
Khawaja will turn 38 next month, Lyon will turn 37 next week.
Smith is 35 and Starc not far from it.

By god the knives are out in Australia today. Aus cricket fans take disappointment about as well as AB fans.
Marnus is the one in the gun the most. Because he's a bit of a dick, he doesn't get the "good bloke" defence that others get. But no runs, a real Shane Watson feel for a review, and that bowling... he's target number 1
As Chris B says, Aus are staring off the edge of a cliff. This attack can't last for ever, and no one really knows what the guys behind them will bring. The batting is old, and fragile, and there might be a few that need replacing at the same time.
It is actually criminal for a country with the playing resources of Australia to arrive at a point where your nailed on attack who play every game are 38, 35, 34 and the baby is Cummins at 31
Then your batting has a 37 year old opening, a 35 year old at 4, and your two "young" guys to take the team forward are both over 30 as well. Oh and your keeper is 33. And so is your all-rounder.The young guys in the squad? Inglis, who is about to turn 30 and Boland, who is also 35!!
Their problem is no one scoring bulk runs at Shield level who hasn't already had a go and not kicked on. Dark days ahead?

I think I heard from (depth in a bowling perspective) that jhye richardson who was on a comeback from injures himself doing a high five
probably should ban those sort of celebrations lol
-
i feel like Richardson is always hurt

just a bit of seppo bullshit bought in by the West Indies

yep always, surprised he doesn't have kiwi heritage with that sort of bowling injury rate

Bumrah nudges the career average under 20. 180 wickets in 41 tests at 19.94.
Absolutely exceptional. Exactly one run less than the legendary Malcolm Marshall.
With their absolute obsession with cricket it’s probably fair India finally get themselves a world beating paceman.

@MN5 I thought he'd played a lot more tests than that! Outstanding record though, seems like a classy guy as well, difficult to dislike him.

I do wonder if Smith's technique is finally starting to catch up with him. His dismissal in the first innings was very poor, walked across his stumps and missed a straight one. Thing is, that's how he's always played, and in his prime a few years ago he middles that for four as the bowler looks on in anguish. But now? Maybe doesn't quite have the eye he used to. Now that I've said that, he'll probably pile it on this series.

It took 110 tests and an average of 56 but I’m glad he’s finally declining

A couple of weeks? First test is on Thursday, mark it in your calendar!

Was just reading the calls for Marnus' head - and thinking the strange thing about cricket is that if Australia fight back and make a game of this - there's a lot less pressure on the selectors to drop someone.
Usman hasn't helped Marnus. Top edge hook 17/4.

Wooooooo
Happy to stand corrected on that.

Least it wont be OZ's biggest test loss in terms of runs..
