In 2026, Glasgow will host athletics and para athletics, swimming and para swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling and para track cycling, netball, weightlifting and para powerlifting, boxing, judo, lawn bowls and para bowls, 3x3 basketball and 3x3 wheelchair basketball.

and hard to justify funding for them
They are an anachronism. So many of the sports now have apex events outside Olympics/ComGames - it gets harder to argue for them each time.

Com games feels more like a friendship games these days too. Sports like cricket and rugby could probably do without an extra event in an already congested calendar. Less viewed sports have a chance to shine in the years between Olympics, but I guess that means lower viewer numbers

they missed the chance to really make it fun. Get some traditional commonwealth sports and I'd watch the hell out of it
