Thata boy Henry, well deserved
-
Henry has taken 32 wickets at 16 this year

A mini collapse leaves India 80 odd for 4, although one of the 4 was the nightwatchman so more like 3.5. Amusingly, Kohli took the nightwatchman, then had to come out and bat anyway, then ran himself out. I wonder if he wasn't mentally prepared to bat, assuming that the nightwatchman would get through to stumps.
Game on. Massive first session tomorrow.

@nzzp Those odds probably reflect the money of millions of Indians who can't believe their mighty team could get beaten again.
In paper, they really shouldn't - but, they're playing a bit like men in a knockout game who are 15 points down with 10 to go and they'll have to bat last on this pitch.
I think we're marginally ahead in this game. If we'd made NQ's 300 we'd be looking good.

Had a thought about nightwatchmen this morning. Siraj not only got out first ball, he burned a review doing it. Since your batting is normally ordered roughly by talent, burning a review isn't too bad, because the batters after you are generally less valuable. But burning a review in an attempt to save your number 10 while your number 4 is sitting in the shed isn't quite so good.
Now that they've gone back to 3 reviews/innings it doesn't matter so much, but it's still not a great use of resources.

It also worked out worse than that, the player they were protecting Kolhi got run out as well.

The Siraj review and Kohli runout were entertaining viewing

Chapman drops Gill - a bad miss, because India are racing this morning.
Second drop of the innings - which is a change from the earlier games where our fielding was really good - and arguably one of the biggest differences from the efforts of the past couple of years.

@Chris-B it’s a shocker given the quality of catching we have seen from the Black Caps during the series
India don't seem to be in the mood to give up more chances. You have to take the chances you are given

The dropped catch hasn't cost us too much in the end fortunately
On paper - but, we've dropped three, so we're going to have to construct 13 dismissals - and all three drops are top 6 batsmen.
It's substandard and a big part of the reason our results have been sliding across all formats.
-
@MN5 It's a spinners track - there's plenty of assistance.
And if it's anything like yesterday it's hot as hell (looks like a bit more breeze), so the seamers are only going to have two or three over spells I'd guess - if it's worth using them at all.
Mitch Jr looked completely shattered when he was batting.
