Black Caps v Sri Lanka Test Series

Splitting hairs probably, but I’ve often found the idea of a night watchman a bit weird.
Someone is in the team as a specialist batsman, in some situations he will find himself needing to bat for a few niggly overs at the end of the day. I think it’s rough they get a guy who has bowled 41 thankless overs padded up and sent out to “protect” him.
Jason Gillespie will definitely disagree with this though.

Though it's not clear to me that there's any difference between our top order batsmen and our night watchmen...
Haha, was just thinking that.
Flipside of that is that they could have gotten Latham, Conway etc to send down lots of innocuous pies for the Sri Lankans to rack up a cheeky six hundy for five declared…..

Am struggling to remember a more utterly worthless and spineless NZ cricket performance in our lifetimes. 1995 v the West Indies was up there.
At least 26 all out was in the days of uncovered pitches.
This match ?
Walsh went ok, shit he is underrated for whatever reason. Fantastic bowler.

My memory of the scores was out, I just remember the second innings being like men v boys.
Yeah shameful performance at home.
I sat on the bank and Curtly Ambrose did a lap of the ground to thunderous applause from all of us ( he had a lot of time to fuck around and have fun while the Windies were batting to be fair )
All those middle order left handers just took the piss against our attack from memory. The one who actually looked the best that day wasn’t Lara, it was Keith Arthurton, I was always surprised he had such an average career compared to the “Prince”
