Cheers, but that's the app I was talking about earlier.
It's great, but again, requires them to cast from the app.
It also doesn't seem to stream via the google chromecast, so unless I upgrade them to an apple TV, they can't watch the racing on the big screen.
Having aging parents is fucking frustrating but it's much much much better than not having aging parents - especially with my Dad trying to get knocked over by cancer every other year.
I know I'm very lucky to still have them here, but trying to get them sussed while dealing with rising prices here is a fucking bitch. A great bitch to have I guess.

I've got a Sky Pod recently solely for Trackside. Very frustrating having to stream through external sites (as I couldn't cast directly from the Trackside pop ups in the TAB Mobile app, so was having to use LOVERACING.NZ or HRNZ).
The Pod was remarkably easy to set up and houses all your other apps (Netflix, Neon, TVNz+, ThreeNow etc) on the home screen.

I fucking love this place sometimes.
OK, start of the twenty questions:
Cost appears to be about $100
Do you get any cost benefit of not having a dish (i.e., in channels served)?
How does the data usage fee with Spark etc apply?
ah I hadn't factored in the data usage as I'm on unlimited broadband...
Cost overall monthly is slightly cheaper I think - especially for the first few months. You don't need an installation which is an obvious help. Thr $100 for the pod is a one off cost but maybe a bit of haggling will get them down to $50 - I got that discount after they faffed around (tip: they weren't getting work orders sent through from online orders so I had to call up- not that they'd told me online orders weren't working).
Flick me a DM as I may have a longer term solution...

I ditched full sky about 18months ago now and went to SkySportNow which works awesome for me through the samsung TV at home and at the bach (both locations also are on fibre which helps). Im only ever in one place at one time so really as I dont need to remember to take any dongle or anything with me between locations. Paid $299 for the year twice now through the Black Friday sales.
Phone app is also good and PC even better as can run multi channels on the same screen. Really useful at work when there is a lot going on.
Only gripe is lack of trackside but like others can always watch via TAB or SENZ apps, as well as loveracing. Plenty of options.
