And the Blues could only clear to the 25 - which is why it wasnt a bad idea to turn down that penalty cos that's what would have happened.

Classic finish actually, good reffing as it turns out, he stuck to his guns

All the Li fans on here will be delighted that he was anonymous and actually poor all game and then got his team a bonus point and himself another start next game :)

He'll be creaming his pants. Good try to Tevita Li making me look like a fool in the process and a bonus point for us. Not pretty but 3 in a row for us so no complaints here especially from a side that gets criticised constantly by media and fans so well done to them. Must improve for the Lions next week.

Still salivating to see what a Coles chunked in between Crusaders props - with a Faumauina slice thrown in can do in Black....

He's a bit of an enigma really, perhaps not a good one though. Must be the gold tooth

Blues now have the same number of points as the Aussie Conference leaders the Brumbies and Tahs.

He's quite lucky that he's the only real specialist left winger in our side now with Moala moving in to the midfield. I suppose he hasn't been awful, he just doesn't offer much for large periods of games.

Tevita Li this year is actually a genuine step up compared to last year, when he was an actual liability - his handling was much worse and his defence was woeful.

Im guessing Li is one of those guys that looks super impressive on the training track , he looks like an olympic sprinter as he jogs around ,

Sometimes you can get sucked in selecting guys on potential rather than results

It's weird, isn't it. I mean, if anyone knows quality wing play, it would be Tana. Still, let's see how he goes - must be doing something right to keep getting the nod over the other candidates

We're stuck with Li for the time being, as there's no one left to replace him at the moment. We could bring in Duffie for him, or put Sa'u at centre and move Moala to his wing, but both options are not that great.

What I hated most about Li in this game was the Kings' 2nd try. He left his wing for some reason and had to scramble back to recover, but was too late and could only get a side on tackle on their hooker, rather than a front on one that would've given him a better shot to stop the score. I've seen him help concede two other tries this year because he mindlessly left his wing to join a ruck he should have stayed out of.

Today even more than usual he has looked very tentative. I wouldnt mind seeing Visinia shifted to the wing and Trainor given a run at fullback at some stage this season.

This is what I'd like to see later on.

Tuipulotu went all Kaino on defense in this game. He was very good with and without the ball. I think he's got that bench lock spot for the ABs sewn up.

So, about the game.

Well, a win is a win. I was half asleep this morning watching it, but generally thought we played well in patches. When we got our running game going, it was strong one off running and hitting the ball with pace. There are a whole lot of big units in that Blues team, so doing that for ten minutes is going to lead to some empty legs for the opposition.

Watched Bryn Hall a lot. His pass seemed good this week - a lot more like week 1. Still not great, but didn't seem to be spraying it around. Despite that we spent a fair bit of the game starting from a standing start. Plenty to work on.

Physicality good, and in the end a 5 point win on teh road is a 5 point win on the road. Hopefully they lift for next week and get another W in teh column. A record of 5-1-3 is just fine at this stage in the season, with a couple of road games left against the Farce and Lions. If we could book another win, that is solid mid-upper table which exceeds expectations for this year. Still have to play Crusaders and Canes home and away, and then Brums, Tahs to finish. I'll be looking for a strong finish after three weeks with Tana, to build into next year.

All in all, ugly, but got there eventually.
