Think Villa will be sad to see him go, was very impressive this season especially when Watkins wasn’t scoring. Coach probably only annoyed they never really gelled playing together. It was one or the other.

    Still good funds for Villa

Conversely maybe they know he just had golden streak of hammering in a few great goals and are cashing in while they can - and given he has gone to Saudi, no doubt he was pushing Villa to give him a massive pay rise.

I'm pissed he's gone. He's a genuine world class player waiting to happen and yes, I would prefer him leading the line to Watkins. Watkins, for all his good link up play, can't shoot. He looks like a winger playing as a striker. Duran would have had 15 goals by now had he been leading the line and I'm being serious. The guy was a gun and I'm gutted he's gone. People who don't watch Villa play week in week out, don't see the amount of chances Watkins wastes infront of goal. He scores about 1 in 4, and I do think he's a decent player, but Duran had a higher ceiling than Watkins imo.

Never mind, it's done now. Hope Ollie has a big 2nd half of the season.

    Good luck to him.

winning streak ends, but we had our chances and didnt play that badly, hopefully we can still maintain momentum. A bit like Forest who came roaring back to life

....and well done Fulham, nice upset

@bayimports Thanks. Just Fulham being Fulhamish. The first half was dire and we could have been 3 down. Very good second half and we took chances that often we dont.

Statement performance from Arsenal. Worst result of the weekend was Ipswich town losing at home to Southampton . I know Brighton got thumped but Ipswich needed to win if they want to stay up.

Fulham have 18 points from ten games against the 9 other teams in the top half and in 14 games against the bottom half we have 18 points

Meanwhile Arsenal thrash City 1-0 at half time. Haaland equalised after 15 but Arsenal went back in front immediately and then embarrassed City.

What is in the water in MAanchester?

@Billy-Tell yeah that and Wolves upsetting Villa make it look increasingly likely the three promoted teams will drop back for the second successive year

Even though he is playing out of position, Myles Lewis-Skelly might be the English left FB soon. Two goals from the Hale End graduates.

So will Rashford by Lingard at West Ham and revitalised by a move - or barely get a kick? With Duran gone and Watkins picking up an injury, Rashford may end up playing up top. He'll have to work hard to satisfy Emery.

City try to press and play a high line but their press is lethargic and they are played through easily, City try to play out from the back but are being caught out by teams with a good press. The loss of Rodri has been a major factor but the lack of legs and physique is causing them to be shown up. Arsenal looking like the only team that can catch Liverpool and that will depend on Liverpool stumbling.

    Meanwhile EPL top scorers

    Salah 21 (6 pens)
    Haaland 19 (1 pen)
    Isak, Wood 17 (1 & 3 pens)

Happy with our options up front now, but man, we really really need a centre back, even if it's a panic buy. We're playing Boubacar Kamara, one of the best defensive midfielders in the comp back there where he is understandably lost, and it's leaving us open in the middle of the park as a result. We just need anyone who can play CB for now lol, times are that desperate.

Spurs get an ugly win against Brentford, as Ange's boys knuckle down and play a solid defensive game. But a wins a win, and with a clean sheet too, I don't remember the last time we got one of those in a league game. Hopefully Ange will take this and set up more solidly in the remaining games of the season, he might salvage something from a bad year and keep his job in the process

Nottingham Forest have just doubled their Kiwi contingent as Tyler Bindon has signed from Reading until 2028. He will be loaned back to Reading for the remainder of the season.

Bournemouth may have missed the loan of Ferguson, but picking up boom kid Eli Junior Kroupi for is a massive win. This 18 year old has a lot of talent.

That's 3 now as Marko Stamenic is also on their books, but is on loan at their brother club Olympiacos.

From a Villa point of view, it looks like an OK window now that we seem to have finally gotten Disasi as our CB for the rest of the season, to go with Malen, Asensio and Rashford.

We should also have Mings and Torres back from injury soon.

@African-Monkey I forgot he had left Red Star Belgrade. Hopefully he and Bindon get a chance to play with Wood in the EPL.

Looks like Chelsea were sniffing around him - he's made a good decision to go to a club that may actually nurture his career.

I think so, we will lose some key talent over summer for sure, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him with game time early. He stays with Lorient for their current season for now too, so both clubs happy.

Club direction is interesting, 5 recruits over winter and all teenagers, the high energy press requires some fast legs. Sometimes it is a risk but hopefully most make it

Sounds like Spurs recruitment strategy. You need old heads as well, to help guide the kids
