Wallabies v Springboks 1

@Bones not Gurthro, Gerhard (no relation.)
Some similarities though, both big, mean loose heads from the bulls. Both destructive scrummagers, prepared to do the hard work in dark corners but also sporting surprisingly soft hands. And neither what you’d describe as conventionally attractive. But put them in green and gold folding a tighthead like a wet pretzel and they are things of radiant beauty.

@Smuts Guthro came from the Paarl Boys High fatty fabric like Frans Malherbe & Thomas du Toit.

@Duluth He is a very talented 10. Played most of his Stormers rugby in 12 when Willemse isnt around. 10 is best position and will try and dominate by foot and ball. Also captained the SA u20 team. Sort of Damian Willemse player but a very good place kicker.
Massive vote of confidence to start SFM ahead of Pollard in an away test and the first of the RC. It will be interesting how he goes because when I’ve seen him play 12 his instinct is to run rather than be a playmaking 2nd 5 type.

Suncorp Stadium has officially sold out for the Wallabies’ opening game of the Rugby Championship against the Springboks, in a much-welcomed boost for the game in Australia.
The clash against South Africa is the first time Suncorp Stadium has sold out for a rugby union match since 2013; with all 52,500 seats expected to be filled on Saturday.
It is also set to be the biggest crowd for a Wallabies home game since their clash against South Africa at Accor Stadium, Sydney in 2006.

Fantastic
And as it should be

Gold Coast.
Combine that with the excitement of the Wallabies winning three in a row!

Fell off a few tackles at the end of the 2nd Ireland game. Doesn't bode well for the big games. Willemse is a very good defender, it remains to be seen if Sacha can be the player we want him to be at this level.

@W32 I am a bit biased but he defend well enough in 12 for the Stormers. Defending is easier in 10 I think.

Hmmm, I don't think Oz are anywhere near Ireland - on the other hand - Brisvegas brings out the best in them and, historically, the worst in the Boks.

Then maybe they should ask for banjos at all of their matches.
