Brad Mooar's return completes 2025 coaching staff

Brad Mooar is making a return to the Crusaders Assistant Coach position, signing on until 2026. Mooar was part of the coaching crew from 2015 to 2019, when Crusaders began their unbroken seven year winning streak. He has spent his time away from the red and black coaching various

@African-Monkey Supposedly didn't rate him, anyway. Nor did the AB players if the Fern's sauces are correct.

A bit more Back to the Future for Penney.

After last year I hoped we were shot of the tuppenny ha'penny approach. But, if we're getting Mooar of the same, I suspect it won't be long before the Penney drops!

    Coat time, Dad! πŸ™‚

@Machpants Pretty sure the first time I heard it was on here from @Steven-Harris , but to be fair, he's both.

Haven't heard anymore, Nick Evans was supposed to be in the mix, nothing official. That was a few weeks ago. Brad Mooar was also an assistant coach for Scotland.

It's been mentioned a few times on here by different Crusaders fans over the years who are usually bang on with their info.

I said Razor didn't get on with Mooar.
And the reason they brought him back because Penny is an idiot and so is Colin who didn't like Mooar because Razor didn't but loves him now because Penny does, which sums up Colin perfectly.

@Chris Why are Crusaders always so in-house and insular with their coaching picks?

It all comes down to having an existing connection with Canterbury or Crusaders culture as a former player or coach. Why do they rarely look outside of their own backyard?

Ronan O'Gara was sought out by Razor himself and that decision was a raging success.....the players mentioned how good it was to be exposed to a different (NH) perspective, set mindset from having O'Gara in camp.

What are they scared of? It's delivered titles before (Colin Cooper 2002, Vern Cotter 2005 & 2006, Goodman,, O'Gara, etc...)

Rob Penny and Colin Mansbridge are the answers.
