Looks like Kellow has passed Christie in the rankings
It’s an interesting one. Razor is a huge Christie fan and the chat was he was next in contention for the AB’s 7, especially with Razor in the role now. Unsure what’s going on but personally I don’t think he’s impactful enough, good player but not international level(yet).

You'd think with Hurley. Even if there is an early back three injury Gilbert will go on. Looks like he really was the last outside back standing in the squad
im thinking i would have been tempted to have gone 6/2 split just too have bigger bodies and changed gameplan to suit

And it looks like Parkinson, Hicks, Sanders and the unplayed Hayden Michaels were all available

Will be interesting to see how many are playing club on the weekend. Hicks is clearly out of favor but I would have had Paripari ahead of Tucker personally, he could have been massive off the bench. Just hope PPP can get the injuries behind him because there is huge potential there and with Dunshea, Holland and him, that’s a great locking trio moving forward.

even more route one is Ajay...this has too be a hit too his confidence....good for Dunedin so not all bad

I have a feeling we won't see Parkinson in a Highlanders jersey again. He has been playing club rugby. There are rumours of two lock spots being available for next year. Oli Haig and Hugo Plummer have been selected ahead of him at lock. Resds like he is on the shelf and his ticket is booked out of Dunedin

@SouthernMann thats such a stupid move mid season (unless there is some off field issue)
far from perfect but i think did enough to be there before putting people out of position

Dunshea, Holland and Tucker are seen as the top three specialist locks. Haig appears to be in favour with the coaching staff, especially with no Renton. It seems like there is some longstanding frustrations with Parkinson. All the attributes to be an absolute beast. Just hasn't really delivered. Compare him to how Holland rips in as a big man and it is chalk and cheese.

Looking for more go forward, Kellow seen as a better ball carrier.
Barrett all good a pinched nerve all sorted, he trained Yesterday with no problems. -
@Chris Kellow's better at breakdown too, much quicker over the ball.
As well as Razor managed to get every bit out of Christie and how hard he tries, he's too one dimensional to be in this current Crusaders side looking for wins.

This Highlanders team has to be one of the youngest ever put out by the club. It includes nine players 22 and younger. Keeping that in mind we should expect mistakes. We are expecting very inexperienced players to learn at the highest level. It is like putting the full graduate programme at the executive table.

It would be a real shame because as we know, when he’s fit and firing he’s as absolute weapon. Unfortunately, staying healthy is the best ability one can have and he doesn’t seem to have that.
Hopefully he isn’t leaving in the off season as I feel if he moved to another franchise he could really kick on to higher honours. Here’s hoping some good competition for the jersey takes him to another level, imo he’s levels above Will Tucker.

@SouthernMann Exactly. From where I'm sitting, I just see a franchise trying their best to bring some you talent through for the future and good on them. They've had 4 wins and are on the cusp of a finals spot with a bunch of babies running around.
The Blues took years of pain before finally seeing progress with a bunch of kids, and I see the Landers doing the same, and who knows, maybe we'll see a team full of ABs bring back the glory days to Dunedin.
Trust the process and block out the outside noise.

Parkinson quite simply has never recovered from that major knee injury. At the time it was between him and Lord for that ABs spot, they went with Lord - perhaps unfairly at the time, and the weekend Lord made his debut against the USA, Parkinson fucked his knee up playing for Ta$man.
Still limps and lumbers around. He has been absolute shite this season, barring about one half vs someone (can't remember who).
He'll go overseas is my guess, would another franchise want him?

Yeah too right, hasn’t he had a bad shoulder injury too? Pretty rough luck for both lads. I saw Lord was ruled out for the rest of this season again with another injury so that locking position is wide open for the taking.

I think Parkinson's size is one of hia biggest issues. He is 2.04m and 140kg. Always had the reputation as being a bit lazy. Being that size is never going to help his workrate. Sure, at his best he is better than Will Tucker, a more traditional sized lock. From a supporter's perspective, I'd much rather have Tucker in the defensive line than Parkinson. Tucker moves better than Parkinson and is just a better bread and butter lock.
