Waratahs v Crusaders

I know they had a lot of injuries and defections but the Crusaders really shouldn’t be this bad!
The Tahs tried to hand that game to the Crusaders multiple times in the last 10 minutes. The game had some really good tries, but the tackling was terrible.
Restart retrieval from both sides was atrocious. They are struggling to win for a reason. And at the end the Saders definitely blew it mentally - the kick, the knock forward by JM and then a terrible lineout meant they can look inwards as to why that game got away from them.
All that, and they'll still probably make the 8 with soft teams to come.

Pretty damning of the comp structure if they do.
It demeans regular season, but keeps lower mid table teams interested. And frankly it's about broadcasting dollars.
Original Super was merit based - 11 games, top 4 go to knockouts. And not too long a comp so if you don't perform it doesn't drag on and on. I have vivid memories as a Blues fan of our season basically being over at Easter (or even before the end of the cricket season!), but the comp having months to go.

Where was the on field leadership (or even waterboy) making sure the time was confirmed by the ref and the captain saying wait for the clock etc? Was drummand still on the field to have a quiet word? DId the ref get questioned as to why the restart if the clock was red?
Leadership is an issue still with so many rookies methinks
