Palmy Boys not helping themselves, making a lot of errors.

@Stargazer Clearly the Polson Banner is more highly treasured than the Moascar Cup given that NBHS seemed not to be focusing on their game last weekend, concentrating on getting ready for this one. Beating those phffts from the other side of the Gorge rates equally as highly as knocking over that outfit from over the other side of the Ngaruroro River and more highly than beating any other team!

I really don't get why the commentators talked up big Palmy centre Lafo Takiari-Ah Ching as dominant, when he hardly had the ball and only one time caught the Napier defence napping to score a runaway try. In the few other cases he had the ball, he couldn't make the slightest dent in that defence (even though Napier needed about 4-5 players to stop him, he's huge).
Napier stand-outs Afa Moleli (MVP) and Jayden Stok. The pack was very good, too, dominating the scrum and bulldozing Palmy Boys with their driving mauls.
Great game to watch; even greater to see a Hawke's Bay school dominate. Not sure what they're going to do with the postponed/cancelled game in and against Hamilton Boys, because that will be a different story. Hamilton have been great and are unbeaten for a good reason. Anyway, the Polson Banner is back in Napier for a year.

@Stargazer Ken Laban was it? Probably just to give him the chance to emphasize what villages he comes from and maybe even what school he started his secondary education at if it was not PNBHS! Also gives him a chance to show how accurate he is at pronouncing names from what looks like it might be from three languages.

Hastings Boys 2nd XV just suffered a big 7 - 48 loss to Hamilton Boys 2nds. I hope that the 1st XV doesn't share their fate, but the way this season is going, I'm not optimistic.
Eek, although a down year for Hastings (which this clearly is) is always going to result in big losses to the Super 8 powerhouse of Hamilton Boys.
