Huge game in the North Harbour schools comp this weekend with Takapuna Grammer hosting Westlake.
Both teams unbeaten sitting locked on 54 points each on the standings with the 3rd place team back on 33 points.
They met earlier in the season and had a 27 - 27 draw. Hopefully a cracking game. May be the case of who turns up best after a 3 week break for school holidays

Great game with Westlake running out winners 21-16. Some very smart football at times which is great to see at that age

Hey @jk You're in the school rugby thread on the Magpies forum. Maybe this is something you'd like to post in the general school rugby thread?
Haha I could yes

Polson banner game: Napier Boys 36 - 19 Palmerston North Boys
Consequences of this game (assuming the Hurricanes fixture list is still correc):
-
Napier will play Hamilton Boys in the Super 8 Final on 11 August. In Hamilton, if Hamilton Boys grabs at least one point against Hastings Boys this weekend. If Hastings wins and leave Hamilton pointless, Hamilton and Napier finish on equal points. I don't know what the tiebreak rule is. Points differential is in favour of Napier; result of the H'ton v Napier game is in Hamilton's favour.
-
The Hurricanes fixture list mentions a game between the 2nd Hurricanes team in the Super 8 (Hastings Boys) and a Challenger team from the Hurricanes region on 22 August, but that game wasn't played last year because there was no challenger team. It might be the same this year.
-
If that game isn't played, Hastings Boys will play the winner of the Wellington Premiership in Wellington in the first Hurricanes Top 4 Semi-Final on 25 August.
-
Napier Boys will play the loser of the Wellington Premiership Final in Napier in the other Hurricanes Top 4 Semi-Final on 25 August.
-
The Hurricanes Final for a spot in the Top 4 will be played in Palmerston-North on Saturday, 1 September.

Napier BHS play Hamilton BHS tomorrow in the Super 8 Final in Hamilton. It will be broadcast live on the Rugby Channel from 12.30pm.
This is the Napier line-up for tomorrow's game:
1 Jayden Walker
2 Tyrone Thompson
3 Patrick Teddy
4 Tiaki Fabish
5 Frank Lochore
6 Josh Gimblett
7 Sam Henderson
8 Luke Russell
9 Treyah Kingi-Taukamo
10 Henry Williams
11 Jayden Stock
12 Kegan Christian-Goss
13 Leo Thompson
14 Jack Sheridan
15 Max Anderson16 Hayden Davis
17 Manaaki Aranui
18 Oskar Lynch
19 Rob Slabbekoorn
20 Angus Kilmister
21 Qunta Tawhai
22 Harry DevineI doubt Napier will win the final, but I hope they'll put up a good fight. Fully home grown team without players from elsewhere on scholarships. Who knows, some of these lads may one day pull on a Magpies jersey. That's why I like watching school games.

Napier just lost the Super 8 Final, but was just as good as Hamilton IMO. What cost them the game was the missed conversions (admittedly, some were from a difficult angle) and giving away that last penalty, that led to Hamilton scoring 3 points in the last seconds of the match.
Napier's scrum was better than Hamilton's, line-outs too, pick and go was great, defence was impressive. Hamilton's defence was strong, too, but different from Napier, they used their backs more, with one runaway try scored by a fast Fijian. Hamilton also managed to get some very useful turnovers, but their line-out drives didn't work against the Napier defence.
Stand-out players for Napier were captain and hooker Tyrone Thompson, TH prop Patrick Teddy, no. 8 Luke Russel, and centre Leo Thompson. Their forward pack is no doubt the strength of the team. It will be interesting to see how they go in the Hurricanes Top 4.
Last year, Hastings absolutely dominated and this year, they were only a few bonus points behind Napier (the only team to beat them). While it is clear that Hastings is not as strong as last year, and Napier is significantly better than previous years, the question is whether the Wellington Schools have improved.
Can a Hawke's Bay team again grab the Hurricanes spot in the National Top 4?
If they do, today's match has shown that Hamilton is beatable. A National Top 4 Final is feasible, if Hamilton is the opponent in the semis. -
It appears, there is a challenger to take on Hastings BHS for a spot in the Hurricanes Top 4: Palmerston North BHS.
The game will be played in Hastings tomorrow. Kick-off 2.00pm.
