Black Caps v South Africa

@Rapido I can't remember it either - though I reckon our speed guns are a bit dialled back compared to Australian ones.
Aussies always talk it up though. They reckon Jeff Thomson bowled at 180kph prior to speedguns working properly.

I've only watched probably even more intermittently, but I hadn't seen him break 127kmh.
Wags broke 130 yesterday.
Edit - may not have been yesterday but definitely first innings

On the selections. Jamieson is apparently in doubt for the Aussie tests.
What's his problem now?
Back. related to the stress fracture he just over came.
Bugger.

this is pretty depressing listening as the lead gets close to 200.
We might be chasing 300 in the last innings. Possibly more.
Our openers are in very unconvincing form. In Conways case this is being generous, his skills have fallen off a cliff.
So is Blundell.
Ravindra, Young and Phillips are inexperienced.
As usual EVERYTHING rests on KWs shoulders.
These guys seem to be doing all they can to avoid beating SA in a test series.

My earliest memories of watching the black caps is from the 90s. You'd think I'd be used to this by now. Yet the black caps losing a test (to be fair, we've pulled off some crazy wins in the last few years, but we are definitely into 'crazy win' territory now) still hurts more than any other sports result. Even the ABs losing the final hurts less. The black caps getting better has made the pain worse too. At least it used to be inevitable after we were 0/2 with both Blairs back in the pavilion.

Bedingham has looked untroubled in this innings.
The pitch hasn't done anything untoward, though somehow we've managed to misread it and only have part time spinners.
Depends on how well their spinners can bowl and what assistance they get.
We could easily chase 300 against our own attack - and their seamers.

Still think it will be higher, most of our bowling attack looks less than threatening on this pitch

@bayimports Southee doesn't follow my good advice, but Phillips knocks over de Swardt cheaply, anyway.
One more and we've opened up an end.

hmmm.....perhaps if I keep saying we will be chasing 300+ , we are bowling pies
