16/17 year old's that have left school can't play for schools either in the Waikato. I have read that they have relaxed those rules a bit in the Thames Valley. I didn't play school rugby in the 90's. I played club. My under 17's team was a mix of guys still at my school, guys who had started apprenticeships and some of their mates from a couple of other schools.

An improvement from my club Te Rapa but still no win. A bit more expectation this year with some new players with Prem grade experience. They just need time to bed in. It doesn't get easier with last years finalist Leamington next week. We had a HBHS 1st XV player from last year join this week, Inga Kokohu. We don't usually get that caliber of player in our grade, it helps that his brother is a player/coach.

What position is he playing? He alternated between no.8 and hooker for the 1st XV.
I went to watch the Marist-Melville game. Melville actually kept them out for 10-15 mins.

He came off the bench and played as a loose forward. I don't know how long we will have him. He has been in OZ playing S G Ball League for the Dragons. Not a good year so far for Melville but they will probably be still too good for the best Div 1 side at the end of the year. Our current 1st Five was recently at Melville. Haven't seen Harry Lafatuanai on any team sheets, hopefully his mates get in his ear to come back to Te Rapa.

Is that Charlie Faumuina I see lining up for Papatoetoe tomorrow?

Highlights from Petone's win over OBU on Saturday.
Petone's side featured a raft of current/former Super Rugby and NPC players including Harry Godfrey, Riley Higgins, Ngani Punvai, Losi Filipo, TJ Clarke, Belgium Tuatagaloa and Kaliopasis Uluilakepa. Petone also have Brad Shields, Peter Lakai and Logan Henry in their ranks so pretty stacked if all those players were available at the same time.

There was a stream of this game and Petone with 5 professionals in their backline completely ran away with the game in the second half. Godfrey, Punivai and Clarke were electric. The latter has been in great touch for Wellington over the last couple seasons and could be a great replacement for Moorby at the Canes next year. Godfrey showing why the Canes should be looking at him as their future first five. Reminds me so much of a young Beaudy, his acceleration to the line on attack is something else. He’s got a way higher ceiling than Aiden Morgan.
