have to say, i do like how the aussie teams tend to stick with their home jersey and only change when there is an actual clash
Why are the Brumbies wearing that jersey then?
Culture round, it includes an aboriginal design

@Kiwiwomble I find it bloody odd aswell that the Canes have used their black strip in 3 out of 4 games so far this year. Bring back the yellow on a permanent basis IMO. So weird.

They could do that with the blue top. And the Tahs could wear their home jersey. Hopefully this sort of clusterfuck will be addressed by the Super Rugby Commission.

I think the Crusaders may be doing a heritage jersey based on this post…

The above jersey guide shows it off... seems weird this wasn't picked up on earlier!
Be curious to see if the Highlanders, Chiefs and Canes have ones in the work. Notable the Crusaders are down to where this one when they come to Dunedin, so one might assume...

It always bothers me too but it's down to sponsorship as their jersey sponsor is different.

oh shit...does too! completely missed it....now im concerned the other teams aren't getting them this year as they dont show up...thats would be pretty rubbish
that jersey, with old school collar...will sell out many times over, rugby jersey stripes, retro shoulder pattern, proper collar

@Kiwiwomble how do you find what jerseys each team is wearing on a weekly?

As mentioned in another thread the Blues are wearing their retro jersey this week. They'll wear it again in Round 12 v the Hurricanes

You obviously didn't grasp it was a generic question directing focus at them needlessly changing jerseys, as indicated by my next post.
-
@antipodean but why ask me? i had literally just said i was cool that the aussies more often that not...dont...change their jersey, seems largely just for special rounds...but obviously still more than you would like to see but surely better than just changing to the away strip which often has little to no relevance

I quoted your post because it had the pertinent information that gave context to mine.

Tbf, I think the Crusaders and Canes largely did it (and the Canes still do) because of having the differing sponsors.
The Highlanders and Blues tend to wear their away jersey, simply because they clash with the majority of the teams (THEY ALL WEAR BLUE)
Only dubious one I would say is the Highlanders against the Chiefs, but Dark Blue is probably a little close to black I suppose.

@frugby looks like the only time we didn't go with the maroon when away is against the reds for obvious reasons...like we're down to wear maroon against the canes....when theyre wearing yellow

i would say the tahs is more dubious than the chiefs...the black is a lot closer to our blue than their sky blue

I think as a default rule though, I don't actually entirely disagree with teams wearing the same base colour (regardless of shade) wearing different shirts.
Thinking for the players, if you see blue in your peripheral vision etc.
Also, the Tahs wear navy shorts, which I imagine is partially factored in.
