NRL 2024

because of course they fucking do

Unfortunately normal service resumes for the Warriors.
Missed tackles, dropped passes, set re starts, Roosters rampant. This is going to be a blood bath.
In the space of 5 weeks the Warriors have gone from respected premiership contenders to the laughing stock of the NRL

Can’t believe Roosters were awarded that last try. It’s come forward of Tedesco.
Oh that’s right, it’s the Roosters.
Now that I’m not reacting in the heat of the battle I’ll comment.
Warriors just can’t play for 80 minutes. Normally you’d blame poor fitness, but it was the opening 15 today they didn’t turn up for.
After that we fought hard, with our backs against the wall… we already had a few late changes through injury, then lost Johnson mid game, so did well to stay keep fighting after being down 22-0 in the blink of an eye.
Not sure how they’re going to get out of this slump, I sure hope Webster has some ideas.
-
I just can’t take the NRL seriously when a player has clearly taken a head knock and they don’t do anything about it. Joseph Manu clearly looked dazed there and didn’t come off for a head assessment. Bloody pathetic in this day in age but wouldn’t expect anything less from this sport.

we're shit. and now we are injured and shit. Webster needs to wake up and recognise NRL football in 2024 involves a lot more risk, more and more tries are starting from further out. But we are still risk free until it's too late.
Things aren't right at Penrith but they keep winning.
Brisbane are the perfect emobdyment of what i talk about above. They have strike players and aren't afraid to have a crack. Mam is a superstar. The Eels are still trying, but they are no good.
Ignore most of Saturday it was dogshit, but the Storm losing at home to that Sharks team was hilarious.
The Titans are clearly playing for Des, they made so many last ditch tackles yesterday (just like against us) but the Cowboys had them beat until Val Holmes pulled off the blown try of the year.Injuries are smashing the comp at the moment, not sure there is a team with all their best players on deck.
There are some very ordinary sides getting around at the moment.
-
And with Origin around the corner, all these injuries are going to lead to some weird teams being named.
-
oh oh and didn't the "game's gone soft" crowd get some ammunition this weekend?
Firstly Tommy Turbo won a penalty because his head fell in to a Dolphins player's palm. Made worse because the only reason it was reviewed is Tommy got up, fucked up the play the ball, and then Manly were able to challenge for some reason. Softest head high i have ever seen.
Then Harry Grant ran towards a kicker, doesn't even really go at him as he knows he is late, the Sharks players swings his leg on the follow through and kicks Grant in the thigh. Hits the deck, and gets Grant binned for contact with the legs.
The NRL i swear has a competition going to create the dumbest penalty ever, each and every weekend. And then, the MRC will come over the top and make it all worse with lottery suspensions.
The NRL has created this problem. If players feel a touch to the face, or contact with the lower legs, they stay down writhing in pain until the double pump of the whistle, at which point the bunker will review. The NRL is becoming worse than soccer for diving, because it works. We at the Warriors have DWZ who is one of the worst for it, so this isn't me pointing fingers. It is a blight on the game.

Well Im glad I didnt get to see any of yesterdays games, so no change from the Warriors? although we had half expected a beat down. and of course next up we have the Panthers
Injuries are absolutely massive this year. Halves and fullbacks especially getting smashed. Looks like they need a discount store especially called HammiesRUS
Manly continue their look unbeatable and then stop playing. Even Turbo was laughing when he got away with that review for the palm.
Probably the most impressive effort was the Sharks without Hynes that i saw, (cant say I saw the Roosters)
-
Manly are bipolar. And Seibold is the easy target because for some reason the entire comp's fanbases hate him.
But there are a lot of senior pros on that Manly team, they shouldn't just be clocking off after 20 minutes.
-
@mariner4life Yes there are. You got Brisbane, Penrith and the Roosters with Melbourne, Cronulla and so far the Dolphins keeping them honest. The rest of the comp is pretty dire in all honesty.

The PNG bid makes no sense for the NRL except for the fact that the country is rugby league obsessed, and by all accounts the NRL won't even have to stump up cash for it.
If they go as previously mooted and split between Morsby and Cairns it makes even less sense.Taking a defunct Sydney brand to Perth guarantees failure. Just start something new

PNG is about getting government funding which was promised, I doubt that is promised if change of government, so perhaps the rushing to get it in
Makes no sense on any other level
Strangely the bears as a brand is still quite strong, but Perth also doesnt sound that appealing
-
Western Australians hate everything east coast with a passion. You uproot a Sydney team and plonk it in Perth and they will shun it out of spite.
The only way the Bears work is if you base them in Gosford.
