NRL Round 26: The Fumbling
Did your team need a win to cement something? Then they probably lost.
The Cowboys got their win against Melbourne B.
Cronulla needed a win to lock top 4 and even top 2, they lost.
The Dogs are pushing for a top 4 spot. They lost.
Thr Dragons needed a win to stay in the 8, they lost.
The Broncos could thrn have taken 8th, they got pumped.
The roosters could lock in 2nd, they lost to the Raiders, and lost 3 players to long term injuries. And so to the final week, the winner of the Knights-phins game gets 8th.
The dragons play the Raiders, and the winner needs the knights and dolphins to draw (or alternatively win by a hundred).
But spoonbowl is the biggest game of the weekend -
interesting news and rumours floating around today
James Maloney fired from Cowboys for drink driving..although seems like an overreaction to me (must be more to it)
First time a serial offender gets a downgrade (Kaufusi) although ban should have remained for that haircut and his origin input
Souths fail to get Latrell cleared for this round, so banned week 1 next year
Spoonbowl has the most bets of any game this weekend and although Parra favourites on the tote, two third of the money is on the Tigersbut the biggest rumour of the day (in my mind) is that apparently Moses Leo close to signing with one of 4 league clubs chasing him
-
Lol I just flicked over to the league
The Broncos are already in Bali.
Blowtorch on Kevvie hard -
Hughes has to be close to a lock for Dally M
-

-
Sold out! How good!
-
there is better hype than a grand final
-
Spoonbowl delivering reserve grade shit everywhere
-
40mins away from three in a row!
-
We've got this in the bag.
Imagine throwing an intercept to a bloke that had a leg transplant from a midget.
I blame Wests.
-
The Tigers are fucking terrible
I love Benji but...
-
@Donsteppa said in NRL 2024:
Shipping 54 points in a battle for the spoon. With 9 minutes to go still... yikes!
Leaving nothing to chance.
-
60 points. 60 fucking points.
This is a new low. They keep finding them.
Fold the club.
-
Fucking hell. League players can tackle but they can't defend. Haven't watched more than a few minutes this year but nothing changes.
Crichton stands still, then runs thru a huge gap created by lazy rabbits who switch off once the ball gets 10 metres away from them. Wingers can't count.
This Va'a kid is monstrously big
-
At the risk of being that guy, I really do think that the Tigers aren't far away from being competitive again, and I hope they do. I think they have some good young kids coming through, and whether you like the guy or not, Jerome Luai will make a huge difference next year imo.
Never been the biggest fan of Benji, but I do think that they'd be better off sticking by him.
-
@African-Monkey the margins are pretty thin at this level. An extra year of experience together could be the difference.
I'm not convinced on Luai. Seems to benefit from Cleary and a good squad. Seems like a bit of a flog.

I'm probably the only Luai fan out there, but he guides Penrith around well to many victories when Cleary takes his usual 8-12 week injury break in the middle of every season.
Aren't Penrith at about an 80% win rate when Cleary doesn't play?
I think Penrith will find the going harder next season if Cleary takes large chunks of the season off.

Thank fuck the regular season is over. Everyone except Melbourne are limping in to finals. Ok, i guess the Sharks smoking Manly yesterday was something.
There are some deeply flawed teams in the finals, so it will be interesting to see who gets hot.
