AFL 2024

Was doing some work and listening to the game on the radio….hearing the commentary change when we switched on was sweet
-
Swans are something else right now. Brutally dominant.
It's a long season but unsure who runs them down from here. Melbourne went 12-0 a few years ago but it felt like there were more quality teams on their tail.
Carlton probably the next best team and they didn't lay a glove on Sydney a few weeks ago at the SCG.
-
try and be humble, a few injuries and things chance....and then anything can happen come finals
but given all my other teams its good supporting a winner
-
no one else can stay good for more than a fortnight at the moment. Carlton were out of the 8 two weeks ago, they are now 2nd and the "next best team"
Tipping is completely fucked. So while the quality of the football isn't always elite, at least fans of most teams are turning up every week thinking they are a good chance to win.
-
So you can stick a fork in Melbourne now that Petracca is done for the year.
-
We've hit the bye rounds, but still weird shit aplenty
The Lions tried to lose to the Saints, i mean we let a Ross Lyon coached side score 100 points FFS. But we scored 120 ourselves. The Saints have attacking talent that's wasted under Ross.
Sydney are so bored with the regular season they are just amusing themselves by giving up a lead and then smashing the opposition anyway. One bloke kicked a genuine bag.
The Dogs upset the Dockers.
Richmond got towelled up in Dusty's 300th
Poor old North gave up 6 goals 4 in the last quarter to go down by a pointThe ladder gets more congested every week. Two wins separates 3rd and 13th

going back to this one as it still holds true....ive never seen someone kick 9 before....was amazing, especially considering i think he'd only kicked 1 in the first half and the was benched most of the final 10
-
Can't believe they didn't leave him out there to bag a 10th
-
@mariner4life it was really weird, even when they were interviewing guys after the game none of them understood why, kind of expected someone to say he'd picked up a niggle and they didnt want to push it
-
looks like i wasnt the only one to have some fun, although looks like theyre being "corrected" pretty quickly
-
-
what even is this season?
Brisbane needed to score the last like 5 goals of the game to beat the Petracca-less Demons at the 'gabba
Sydney lost! at home! to fucking Freo!
Premiership favourites are Gold Coast at home. Spoon favourites are Gold Coast on the road.
Geelong beat Essendon, both teams are absolute frauds.
The Crows beat GWS, who are suddenly just bog-average
St Kilda dragged Port in to a low scoring shitfight but still couldn't win
The other sunday games were predictable as shit. One win is the difference between 3rd and 13th
There are 3 absolutely shit teams in this league. What happens when another team comes in to spread talent even further?
-
bound to happen (although i have had fun say "we might never loose again" over the last several weeks)...speed wobbles, might actually help in the long run, bit of a reality check
-
Random AFL fact i just saw
Hawthorn are the first team in history to be 13th with a positive win/loss record.

AFL is fucked and its awesome, even the north's fan i know is like kind of excited about some good draft picks and doing better next year
-
how good is a comp where nearly every fan can turn up on the weekend thinking they are a chance?
-
@mariner4life and not even THAT delusional, swans have had the most dominant start in recent memory...and we lost to Richmond
-
I went to the Lions v Crows yesterday. Far more tense than it should have been. Lions kicking as many behinds as goals keeps teams in it. The forward line is not working at all.
Crows were pretty good though. They kicked us to death, just finding mark after mark to move the ball. And they kicked straight.Elsewhere Sydney and Carlton both lost, and the ladder got even more congested.
-
Went to GWS vs Carlton, was a fun sort of game. GWS flicked the switch in the second and might have saved their season.
With Sydney losing to the Saints, you could tell me any of the top eight teams will win and I'd believe you.
Think this week might have ended the Gold Coast, Bulldogs and Hawthorn though.
